Guest guest
Hello all. I'm 9 months out from surgery, and REALLY want to get off acid meds. I'm on Nexium, which is the only one which worked for me initially, although I do find that Zantac or Prilosec will work now, although not for as long. The Nexium is SO expensive, and my deductible is big enough that I'm paying for it out of pocket, and am concerned about the long-term effects of taking any of them regularly. So far I'm 4 days out with no meds at all. Any hints for ideas to keep the heartburn at bay? Eating small frequent meals seems to help. Drinking milk seems to help, and going to sleep before it gets really bad at night helps, because when I wake up its gone. Any other hints of things I can do to convince my stomach that it can stop already with all this acid production?? Thanks, Danae
