Guest guest
Hi Ann, It's so nice to meet you!!! My name is Pat, and everyone knows me around here. I have been a member of this wonderful Life Lift group and have been on the Lift Lift program since the end of last February (2006) and really and truly love it. I had never heard of aerobic breathing before I found Rashelle through Google Search Engine, and I truly thank my lucky stars that I did!!! I was about 60 lbs. overweight when I started. Now, I am only 40 lbs. overweight. One of the very surprising things to me, which I experienced right after I started my Life Lift program at the end of last February was INCH loss, which I had never heard of OR considered. I had always only thought of weight loss in terms of POUND loss!!! After only 7-10 days on my Life Lift program, I found that I had lost 8 inches in my waist. Then, I slowly lost 2 more inches, and today I am 10 inches smaller in girth than I was when I started my Life Lift program!!! Needless to say that I am so very, very, very, VERY HAPPY!!!!!!! The biggest piece of advice I have for you, Ann, is to plan to stay on Life Lift for the rest of your life!!! That's what I am planning to do. Life Lift is the easiest and most effective method of weight loss/low weight maintenance that I have ever heard of, and it is such an exciting thing to be able to see yourself getting smaller and smaller as time goes by just from breathing a certain way for a certain length of time each day!!!!! This is the easist thing I have ever done in my life. I really love Rashelle, and I love her wonderful stretching and flexing exercises that I learned from watching her do them on her videos. I love the way she teaches, and the wonderful smile and " almost laugh " in her voice which is always under the surface of everything she does and says!!!! Rashelle is a very frequent visitor to our group and talks to each of us individually here on our group forum. She is vitally interested in all of us and is very anxious and eager for our individual success!!!! You will love everything about this truly fantastic Life Lift program, I know!!!! Well, Ann, dear, that's all for now. Once again, the best of luck to you with Life Lift, and it is SO NICE meeting you. Welcome to our wonderful group of really great people!!!! If you ever want my help with anything, Ann, please ask me for it, and if it is at all possible for me to do it for you, I sure will. By the way, I live in the Green Mountain State of Vermont here in Northern New England, U.S.A. Where do you live? Guest guest
Pat, TD 5 is Tropical Depression 5, which is south of Cuba right now, and is projected to move into the Gulf of Mexico sometime next week. What will happen once it hits the Gulf, who knows...my prayer is that it simply dies out in the Gulf, but that's not very likely. We survived last year pretty well. Baton Rouge is about 60 miles north of New Orleans, so our damage really comes from wind. When Hurricane Katrina passed through we lost electricity for 10 days and one side of our fence. A month later, when Hurricane Rita (the forgotten storm, but the damage to coastal SW Louisiana is heartbreaking) we lost electricity for 7 days. While I promise you that I complained and moaned the entire time, I never forgot that what I was enduring was merely an inconvenience compared to what was going on elsewhere. Guest guest
Hello Ann, You have my prayers too. I recently met a woman who moved here from New Orleans. She and her Daughter survived Katrina, but I know it was tough for them to have to start over again. I just had to keep hugging her over and over as she told me her story. I will be praying that all of you are protected. We have a lot of great LifeLifters all over the Gulf coast so my heart goes into protective overdrive when these storms hit. Guest guest
Hi Ann, Thanks for your answer, dear, and for telling me that TD 5 means Tropical Depression 5!!! I have been terrified for all the people of Louisana ever since I had first heard the news of Hurricane Katrina and still am!!! I just want you to know that I am praying for your state and all of the people who live there, as well as for everyone who live in the bordering states of Lousiana!!!! I am sending all of you healing prayers and a lot of Reiki (I have been a Reiki Master since 1997. Do you know what Reiki is, Ann? I have also been an ordained minister since 2002!!) So, I am doing everything I possibly can for all of you, and I wish you all well in all of these natural disasters that you have had to endure and that you continue being threatened by!!!! I really wish I could do more than I am doing, though!!!! Guest guest
There are ALOT of benefits to fish oil. One of the biggest is the help it does to the brain. It is very essential to the brain. In particular the omega-3 DHA. Also, another good thing that fish oil does, is it lowers triglycerides VERY well. If you go to www.lef.org, and type in fish oil, omega 3 or DHA, you should get some very good articles. Guest guest
Our whole family is helped greatly by soaking flax seeds over night and having them with breakfast. There are lots of other things you can look at with diet also. Of course, prunes or prune juice. Also, when drinking water (liquids), don't forget to take it away from food so as not to interfere with digestion, as our kids with DS have enough issues with digestion that we don't want to add more. Guest guest
Dear Libby, Welcome! It was my delight to meet you here in Austin when I hosted the Vision Circles Teacher Training. I didn't get to study with Ayers, nor did I become a professional therapist. I entered this field through Waldorf education, having completed the early childhood, grades, and " curative " training (for special needs, in which I did my student teaching). While teaching in Austin, I found that children needed more than even the wonderful movement, art and imagination rich curriculum of Waldorf, and I sought out assistance. I was blessed to meet Pat Ramm, OTR, at the time President of the Texas Occupational Therapy Association. She came into my classroom to observe, and brought me to her clinic to observe, including showing me some of her testing procedures. We cross-refered for a period of some years, after I began using Brain Gym. I understand from those in the know that Ayers work is falling out of favor and is not regularly taught in the OT training. That is a shame. And, having said that, I was wondering if you have a sense of how Svetlana's work 1) expands on Ayers and others, 2) overlaps Ayers and others, 3) transcends Ayers and others. I am convinced that her map of the reflex points (learned in her camps) creates its onw brand new field and is an evolutionary leap. I am not aware of such a map anywhere else. Are you familiar with it? I ask you, Libby, and other professionals in this newsgroup, to share your viewpoint in regard to these questions. Thank you, Sharon Heller Sharon Heller, M.S.
