Guest guest
I think anyone who has undergone surgery has second thoughts before surgery. Don't stress out about what will happen after the surgery, everything will be fine. You will be under pain meds anyway, you'll be able to sleep for the first few days after you get home. I will be thinking of you. Let us know when you are at home, okay? Genia > The closer I get to my surgery, the more I am wondering if it is > really worth it. I can't speak to your particular situation, but in general I have found that the right thing to do, when people are not thinking and acting right, is the same thing that would be the right thing if everyone was thinking and acting right. In other words, don't let crazy people make you make wrong decisions. Perhaps for the time being you can let their problems about you be their own problems and mentally distance yourself from it until this is over. Whether that helps or not, I sure hope you get the outcome you need. notan
Guest guest
And my mom keeps looking at me like I am some bug under a microscope. Now this one, I completely relate to!!!!!!! My mom asks me often how much weight I have lost, etc....I am uncomfortable eating around her (she'd freak if I vomitted!), etc... My sister has struggled with anorexia for 20+ years, so this is a big one for me. ...look how everything fell in place for your surgery. I believe you are supposed to go. It is normal to be stressed & nervous (check back with me on that in 2 weeks! hehehe!). We are all behind you 100%. Keep in mind that it is easier said than done, so don't beat yourself up when people drag you into their craziness and you make decisions you regret. Be aware there is often some control issues in these cases. When you start making independent decisions, (independent of their craziness), these people will come up with all kinds of reasons why you shouldn't have the right to make your own decisions. Because of people like this in my life, I have developed an attitude, about personal decisions, of help or get out of the way, don't coerce, manipulate or sabotage. Family is great when they share their lives, but when they try to commandeer each other's lives, it become a problem. Of course we all feel entitled to make demands and control others, as if they owe it to us. I hope all that goes beyond anything that describes your family. notan

Guest guest
Thankfully, Notan, what you said does go beyond what I have dealt with with my family. But that is only because I "made that break" years ago. I am very fortunate to have a very supportive husband, best friend & church family. My extended family means well & is also helpful, but on my terms! hahahaha! I remember being 's age...this might be her time to "make her break!" Hoping all the myotomies & tests are going great...Cindi ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Has anyone seen the page entitled " would you have your surgery where you couldn't drink the water " ? It is a page by a lab band surgeon in Arizona.http://azlapband.com/_wsn/page8.html I had heard such great things about Dr. Aceves that I had no worries but now I am a skeptic. Has anyone from Dr. Aceves had any complications, if so were you able to get medical attention to get them fixed? How long did it take? Were there costs that you had to pay for the care to fix it? Thanks
