Guest guest
Yes,I get a sickening sweet taste on my lips and in my mouth from mold. Also the mold smells sweet now instead of musty. This started after I went into anaphyalactic shock for 3 days straight and ended up with MCS.Using a neti pot with GFS extract helps alittle. Guest guest
Hi, I am a newcomer to this group and I am so glad to have found you! I've been having serious trouble swallowing for about five months and after reading a number of posts at this group, I no longer feel like I'm suffering from a psychosomatic problem. What I've got is real and it is definitely impacting my life. I also have gone from one specialist to another and finally, this past week, had a full neurological workup and had the impedance menometry (electro/gastrography) and the doctors in charge of the test said that they found something and would report to my new gastroenterologist Monday. I've had an endoscopy with biopsies (not cancerous) and the upper G.I. series and an MRI just in case I had some brain-gastro. link. But I think it was this last test that has found something which can lead to some progress in treating this problem. Just when I think it's going away, it comes back with a fury. I can have all-night spasms and gagging and the next day, just all-day fatigue followed by anothe night of gagging, etc., which keeps me up. I never know when this stuff is going to hit. It doesn't matter what I eat and it doesn't matter when I eat. Well, I know I can't eat anything very close to my bed-time. I will be checking in on this group often to hear how others are dealing with this. But, for now, I'm actually really relieved to know it's real, that it has a name, and that other people are dealing with it! Thank G-d! Guest guest
Welcome Deborah, It sounds like you have had all the proper testing now. I'm surprised they went as far as giving you an MRI. The main diagnosis of Achalasia is usually determined after reading the manometry results. There are several members in our group who post regularly, but the warm weather seems to be keeping everyone busy outside. I'm from Thunder Bay, Ontario, and I can't ever remember a summer this hot. (I'm sure you are used to the heat though.) Weekends are always quiet on the message board, but you should receive some warm welcomes soon. Have a great day, .
