Guest guest
We are on town water, which is thoroughly inspected and safe. However after the appearance of what I call black mold in the toilet, a call to the health Dept., assured me that this was a common Summer event, and the mold was harmless. What puzzles me is that we have two toilets each in different rooms but serviced with the same water supply. The mold does not appear in the lower toilet, which is a quality one from Sears. It's the upper toilet we bought from a lumber store, that allows the mold to manifest itself, it's been jokingly suggested that that toilet is from Mexico. The mold appears in the jet outlet which is about 3/4 inch diameter, located low down in the bowl and which is always under water. So the mold does not appear to require air. The mold also appears as streaks where the water flushes under the rim. My wife will not allow me to use bleach tablets in the tank to prevent this formation, so I sneakily, use bleach whilst she is out, pouring some into the bowl and the tank. Which readily eliminates the mold. This is a tiresome routine. My question is why would it appear in one toilet but not the other? Ideas? Any other tablets recommmended other than bleach. My wife has a nose that can smell bleach at 100 metres. All responses appreciated. --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus]
