Guest guest
I've already told the story of Dr Shapiro in Reno? http://www.dr269579.yourmd.com/ He's one of the " leading immunologist/allergists " in town and I fought with him about mold in 1997. He insisted that this was impossible and ordered a spinal Xray, saying that a nerve damage could cause my symptoms. I asked him why I only had a bad back when I was in a moldy building but he just told me that what I claimed was impossible and that he had never heard anything like this. Dr D went to him several years later and he told her the same thing. She was absolutely stunned because she knew full well that I had laid the whole thing out for him. But at the time I asked his office " Hypothetically speaking, if someone were allergic to, say, mold. Would you know of any contracter who specializes in helping get mold out of peoples houses? " They said " You are the first person to ever ask us that. " And then, " No. If you have a problem in your house that is not our responsibility. We only give shots. " (My stepfather just emailed me to let me know that he has found about a dozen mold remediation companies in Reno now. I think he's finally starting to believe me about all this mold stuff) But anyway, I contacted dozens of doctors at random around Reno to ask if they knew anything about mold, and if not, did they want to learn from a survivor. Only one even called me back. That was Dr Gerber because he and his wife are both sick. But he wanted to charge me while I sat there and gave him this information. Now I am wondering about a number of other doctors and researchers who I told my story to and who have now seen enough of what is going on to realize that I was not exaggerating. They simply do not call me back or show any interest at all. Do they not remember? Do they fail to comprehend? Or do they have no interest in getting help for themselves or for their patients? Well here's the rest of the story. I got to know Dr D in '98 because I was getting SLAMMED from her clothes and soon figured out that she was a moldy - and was going downhill fast from working in a BAD dental office. So I gave her a mold education back in '99 when virtually no one would believe any of this. We wound up having all kinds of mold adventures together but she bought a house that was in a spore plume. When we checked it out, it was OK. But we kept getting nailed by a plume that hit us in a southwest wind. So we both got sick as Hell. I knew better, but I just hoped that somehow we could make it work out. Finally Dr D got so sick that she couldn't work any more and fell apart within minutes of going into the dental office. Her boss, co workers, friends and family all told her that I had brainwashed her into believing that mold could make her sick and all worked as hard as they could to get her to dump me. When she insisted that she wasn't a " suggestible weak person who had been brainwashed by a mold maniac " , they told her to see a doctor or get fired. They picked the doctor. It was Shapiro. I told her that I had already fought with him and he didn't believe in mold so it wouldn't do any good to see this particular one and tried to get them to find another. But they took this as more of my obsessive interference and insisted on Shapiro. She described how she felt horribly ill in specific places and had tested her reactions against samples of mold and knew for certain that this was a reaction to mycotoxins. And again, in 2001, Dr Shapiro insisted that this was impossible and told her that he had never heard of anything like this. She knew this to be untrue since she walked in the door knowing that I had fought with him over this. After Shapiro told Dr D's boss that her complaints were without basis, she was asked to leave/fired. Which was just as well I suppose, since the place was killing her, but having Shapiro certify her as a nut case made the job loss very bitter. Plus she thought her co workers were " friends " until they consigned her to the loony bin. It hurt pretty bad. Well even though Dr D and I are no longer together, she calls me occasionally and did so about two weeks ago to say that her family was just starting to believe in mold (This is the family of doctors who called Stanford after they overheard me " lecturing someone - as if he were a DOCTOR. Who does he THINK he IS! " about mold) Her family now knows people who have been affected, some severely, by mold - so despite Stanford's denials that mold can hurt anyone, they are starting to change their minds. But not about me. They still tell her that I am crazy and arrogant; " Pushed you around and tried to tell you where to work or not. And even had the unmitigated gall to try to select the DOCTOR you went to when you had that little problem. " Yes, yes I did try to get her out of seeing Dr. Sh*tpiro. Wait'll you hear THIS! I was just talking to a paralegal about " toxic mold " and he knew all about it. Said that he worked for lawyers that have been doing mold litigation for over ten years. Told me of a successful case in which Stachybotrys had caused a women to suffer permanent MCS. " WHAT? " I yelled. " You mean that lawyers and insurance companies know all about this while the DOCTORS DON'T??? " He said " Sure, it's been out there for a while " . And I said, " But I called doctors at random. I fought with dozens of them. None of them recognized the word Stachybotrys and not one of them would consider that mold could have any ill effects. I even went to the biggest immunology/allergy doctor in Reno and he fought with me about this. If you tell me that court cases have been going on for over ten years and you know all about it, then the chances that Dr Shapiro never heard about it are somewhere between Zilch and a Snowballs Chance in Hell. " " Dr Shapiro? " He said, " Yes, I know him. He's an insurance company doctor. They send all their cases to him " . Well what do you know! Dr Sh*tpiro is an insurance whore who has definitely heard about Stachy! He has absolutely NO EXCUSE for denying that he ever heard of it OR for telling Dr D that he had never heard such complaints before AFTER I PERSONALLY LAID THE WHOLE THING OUT FOR HIM! And to think that Dr D's family hates my guts because I was " telling her what to do by trying to get her to quit the dental office and ordering her around by selecting which doctors she should see. " Gee, doctors are so wonderful - and what an arrogant bastard I am. - the arrogant bastard
