Hello - New to this group - Researching Revision Surgery

Hello Everyone!

I have been lurking for a week or so. I am in contact with Dr. Aceves in

regards to having a revision from a Lap Band to a Vertical Sleeve. I have had a

lap band since 2002, and recent issues with the band sitting too high causing

pain is the reason I am looking for an alternative solution. I do not want the

band repositioned or just taken out.

My Dr. in Wisconsin has only done a few bands and probably no revisions. I

would rather self-pay and get someone who has experience and seen many different

situations regarding revisions.

So far Dr. Aceves keeps coming to the top of my list. My only hold out is the

" road trip " from San Diego to Calexico, I wish there was a more direct route.

Another Dr. I contacted wanted to do the surgery in two steps. Take out the

band, wait 5 months and then do the revision. I can see his logic, just don't

know about having two surgeries and waiting so long.

I really enjoy reading all of your posts and appreciate any feed back anyone can

offer about a Revision to a Sleeve.
