Guest guest
Well, I got rid of the pesky lap-band and now have sleeve. Can't say this has been a piece of cake. Dr. said I had scar tissue and some mesh that had been used in a hiatel hernia repair was a mess. I have held off on posting because I did not want to sound like a downer. This has been really difficult. I can hardly get any cream soups down, sometimes a protein shake will not even go down. I feels just like when I had a too tight lap band and nothing will get past it. I don't think I can even get down a 1/4 cup of thin soup. If I take one drop too much, I get all the sliming and sometimes it will not stay down. At this point I cannot even imagine trying to eat oatmeal, cottage cheese or any real food. I am ok with water and some juices and I tried to mix my protein powder with almond milk to avoid the milk phlegm thing. Sometimes I mix my protein powder with juice just to get it in me. I do take the Nexium every day. Any suggestions from any of you seasoned sleevers. Did you ever feel like you would never be able to eat again? It is 18 days since surgery. Thanks Lynne Wisconsin
