Guest guest
WHO WROTE THIS? > Greetings Hud; Have been searching for M.D. in B.C.,Canada. Our > rural area here has had 6 in the last year! Desperate for a referal > to anyone familiar with ME/CFIDS. Thank you >> Hud > === Where are you in BC? I call BC home, even though i was born and raised in Ontario. I lived in BC, mainly in victoria, from 1990-1998. If you tell me where you are i might be able to make a recommendation. One thing that's sure about the Greater Toronto Region: the medical services are 10x better, although the provincial healthcare plan is not as good. I know what it's like to live in semi-rural BC; I lived just outside in Saanich. The availability of doctors on the island is pitiful. However, I miss 'home' and have become quite depressed by the horrible environment I'm living in. I used to rent a house for 1000 bucks a month on an acre of land -- half of it rainforest -- which backed onto acres and acres of public forest land. I 'live' for the nature experience, so to speak. So I'm dying here, so to speak! With any luck I'll be making my way back to BC within 6 months. I'm thinking about moving into the interior: maybe Kootenays or even North Okanagan. Hope to hear from you. Hud

Guest guest
no problem getting my dd into school here. just signed a form from the health department. in Ontario, the health plan does not cover naturopaths. where are you thinking of moving to? dh has a plan at work that covers naturopaths, chiropractors, and massage, but it is in addition to ohip. Kathy Hi there, Our family has been considering moving back to Canada...I had no idea until today, but vaccinations are NOT mandated there! And according to their constitution they never will be. In only three provinces are there policies for school admission, but they are required to allow ALL exemptions (religious, medical and conscientious). The health plan also covers naturopaths. I am serious leaning towards moving back because I'd like to not to have to worry about these choices any longer, kwim? It is really sad that it has to be an issue at all here. I went through the public school system there not so long ago....they do the vaccinations at school but I knew ppl who managed to avoid them even with parent's permission! haha (scared of needles). The information I read stated that only 3 provinces have any " required " shots for school entrance (but are required to offer all three exemptions). British Columbia isn't one of them though. Other than that i know it is illegal for them to do this without parent's consent. But pretty easy to fix - don't let your child go to school on that particular day if need be. But I think so long as your child was prepared as to what to do if a situation arose everything would be fine. Mind you I will be homeschooling so that's not a concern. We have decided to start getting our paperwork processed for hubby so that we can all move back there in about a year.
