Hello all! :)

After reading a few of these posts, I started thinking about

what I really wanted out of this surgery. I do want permant results

and I hope whatever outcome of this can stay with me forever. I

wanted to get your opinions on both surgeries. I read one post that

stated that a woman had the lapband and wanted to eventually get the

sleeve b/c the sleeve is indeed " permanent " .

I just heard some really negative things about it stating that

the " pouch " could eventually stretch and weightloss is slowed

throughout the years. Also, I eventually want to have more

children. Will I be able to get adequate nutrition with a sleeve??

I guess I would have to be eating a looooot througout the day. :)

However with the lapband, there's the thing of having to go for

fills, and I have heard of people who have issues with their port

(their port flips, or sticks out after massive weight loss that makes

it look like a hernia and they have to have surgery again), long term

erosion, and slipping.

I haven't really heard of anyone having the band for more than 5

years without some issue. I was really set on getting the lapband

but now the gastric sleeve sounds pretty promising. I was under the

impression that Dr. Aceves only did the full RNY gastric bypass

surgery and NOT the gastric sleeve. Please write me back and share

your thoughts and personal experiences on each surgery please!

Thanks so much!

TwaChic :)
