Hi !

congratulations on the weight loss! i had surgery last August and have lost 155

so far! Just 90 pounds to go until goal!

My cycles were all over the place before; in fact my husband and I had been to

the fertility clinic in order to try to have a baby. The drugs did nothing; now

that I've lost so much, my cycles are exactly 28 days apart, like clockwork and

I'm ovulating. My body seems to have reset itself!

What you are having now is breakthrough from the pill; it's a side effect. I

would go get a check up with the gynocologist as your family history of ovarian

cancer.

hope this helps!

and she is almost 4. As I put on more weight it wasn't unusual for me to go

months without getting a period, even while taking the pill. However, as my

weight started to drop, I began getting my period regularly - usually in the

week off from the pill. However, lately I have been getting my regular period,

and then after a week it ends, but then a week later I start bleeding again.

significant amount of weight? My Mom just passed away last November from

ovarian cancer, so the worry-wart in me comes out! I tried to make an

appointment with my doctor, but he is away right now, so I just thought I would

throw the question out there.

Hi ,

I have no idea why this is going on with you so why not go to your doctor and get a check-up???? Then you will NOT have anything to worry about and your doctor can tell you what is going on. That seems like the simplest thing to do. You owe it to yourself and your family to take as good of care as you can of yourself. Looks like you are doing a great job with your weight loss, so go find out what is causing this.

Hugs,

Suzanne

,The rapid weight loss can cause your periods to be out of control because of all the hormones that are being released that were previously stored in the fat cells. A lot of people experience mood swings because of this happening and also differences in their cycles.I don't know how it is/should be on birth control, though! For me, I have PCOS that was out of control due to my weight. I would go 3-4 months with no period and then I'd be "on" for an entire month. I've read that even a 10% weight loss would start "fixing" the hormone problem that the extra weight causes and that was exactly what happened to me...I've had a "normal" period since the month after surgery in Aug....well, up until March when I became pregnant! :o)Definately get with your doctor, but don't get too worried just yet! It is likely all these extra hormones that are

floating around and maybe the additional hormones in the birth control pills.Sent from my iPhoneOn Jul 13, 2011, at 5:52 PM, "" <hcrogers1971@...> wrote:

I 1983 I had this same problem. I was a little overweight then (maybe 25

pounds or less), but the bleeding was a break through from taking BC

pills. I was living in CT at that time, so I went to see a gyn

recommended by a friend. His advice to me, since I had already had all

the children I wanted, was to simply take out the uterus. I had had a

really bad incident of bleeding and I got so anemic, they had to give me

a transfusion in the hospital. After the uterus was out, pathology came

back that there was nothing wrong with it at all. So the whole bleeding

incident was completely hormone related to the birth control pills. BTW,

my grandmother died of ovarian cancer, but knock on wood, my mom has

been fine and so have I in that way. So my response is I think the

culprit is the pills and and the wild hormones, which will settle as

time passes. Talk to your gyn and see if you can switch to a lower dose

or get off them until your hormones have settled. Of course, the

doctor's advice would be what you'd follow. Just trying to help out

here.

Something alot of ppl don't know is that your body fat actually produces

hormones, so lose of said body fat in addition to rapid weight loss kinda sends

your body into a short term hormonal shock. Your body should regulate once your

weight begins to even out, until then you just kinda have to manage the best way

you know how. If this continues for more than a few months I would recommend

seeing your GYN just to make sure there is nothing else at play but honestly I

think it is just the weight change that is causing your issues. (((HUGS)))
