Hi Jeff and welcome to the group.

I have thought about your question all day wondering what horrible things I could tell you so here goes.

The only thing I can think of negative or neutral was the temperature of the rooms. Either my room was ice cold or stuffy warm. My room was at the end of the building so maybe this had something to do with it.

From my room, I could see a maintenance tech (assumption that he was maint) turning off and on the thermostat instead of leaving it set and letting it alone.

I'm sorry that this is the worst I can give you but the patient care was first class.

Good luck with your decision.

Hello.I am new to this forum and am strongly considering getting banded by Dr. Aceves. All that I have read have been glowing reviews and stories. He almost seems too good to be true. This is where my question comes in - has anyone had ANY negative/neutral experiences?I fully believe that he is the one that is going to do my band, but asking about the problems as well as all of the good experiences is just part of my research.Thank you for your help in this huge, huge step in my life.Jeff

Jeff, a is right patient care was great. The nurses even wore the cute little white uniforms! The worst part of my experience was another person that had came to have the surgery. They had decided to have surgery last minute and didn't know anything about it. They didn't even know what a fill was or what the band did. I felt bad that the docs had to explain the basics. They were so patient with this person it was crazy! They really want you to know what you are in for though. I have tried really had to think of something, but I can't. I had never had surgery before and I was scared to death. I remember gong into the surgery room trying to stay awake and thinking is it clean? Is it

normal? I would have know if it were dirty and it wasn't, but I wouldn't know what was normal...since I have never had surgery before! My so had his adenoids out in the U.S. of course after my surgery and the operating rooms were much the same. I was really groggy after wards and I was convinced in my doped stupor that the surgery hadn't worked because I could burp. Ridiculous I know, but Dr. A didn't laugh in my face. Also my fill Doc here in the states says I check out great...no stolen organs or anything...just kidding. Sorry to ramble. I just thought this was too good to be true also, but trust me it's all true. I wish I had done it sooner. It is the craziest thing I have ever done and I'm all the better for it.

Oh yeah,

I almost forgot that. The only negative / neutral was room temp. I found that if I kept my door open ... it was JUST RIGHT !!!!

Hey Jeff,

I too can add something about the room temp. We I asked the nurse about it she told me that the lady next door was complaining about being hot and had them to turn down the temp which made my room colder. The same thermostat controlls the temp in every room. The nurse brought me another blanket and I snuggled up under the blanket and was most comfortable after that. But with all the other great things I had completely forgotten about that. The quality of care was the most important thing to me, the room temp was the least thing for me to be concerned about.
