Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm so nervous and excited (anxious?) for my upcoming surgery. It's something I've wanted for quite some time. My aunt had a gastric sleeve by Dr. Aceves in 2009, and she highly recommended his services. She's also going to accompany me on my trip. I'm going with the lap-band. I found a doctor that lives only and hour away that will do fills for patients who had their surgery in Mexico. That was pretty reassuring. I've dieted, but could never diet for more than a few months at a time without falling off the wagon. I can be so insatiable at times, and I hope the lap band will control my hunger (and I like that it's refillable). Part of me thinks I should try harder with dieting. I am 23, so my metabolism should be salvageable at this point. But, part of me knows that my dieting will just end in failure. I've been obese most of my life (since I was 10 years old), and I'm hovering around 220 lbs and I hate it. My boyfriend thinks I'm beautiful the size I am (he's a very sweet guy), but I don't want to be over 200 lbs anymore. I've wanted to have this procedure done for years, and now that it's happening I'm nervous. Is it normal to get some second thoughts? I don't want to back out, though. I'm tired of being the fat girl. Thanks for reading Kala
Guest guest
This is great. Can I ask why you would have a lapband when your Aunt had a Sleeve???? Please read some of the post that have been around the couple days and here what they are saying about the lapband and all the problems they had; and they all say they wished they would have had the sleeve surgery.
