Hi! Just got back from Mexicali in the wee hrs on the 19th. All the

nurses and Dr's were just as wonderful as everyone said. The hospital

was clean and the chicken broth was very yummy. I'm glad I had the

surgery. The bed wasn't the greatest, so if traveling by car be sure

to bring an eggcrate. The only downfall was that I live in CT, so the

trip back home wasn't very pleasant. The total travel time was 16 hrs

(of course traveling by plane with one stop). My recommendation for

anyone coming form the east coast is to stay 2 extra days in San Diego

once you leave the hospital. The gas, diarrhea, and pain at the port

site are hard to deal with while traveling all day. My question is how

long does the diarrhea usually last? Everything I drink goes right

through me(2 days now). FYI I did some sightseeing with my daughter

before surgery and stayed at a great hotel in San Diego(Old Town area)

called La Quinta Inns and Suites. Very clean and the best beds. Also

free continental breakfast and free internet for anyone traveling with

you. Airport was only 5 min away. If need a car rental can recommend

one 2 min from hotel.

hi , You can try a 1/2 dose liquid Immodium for the diarhea ... it works fast. Trust me...a few monhts later you'll be looking for a laxative. lol (I'm using Miralax twice a week.. miracle over the counter drug!) karensvenson <karensvenson@...> wrote: Hi! Everything was " liquid out " for me until I went to full liquids on day 11. The

first couple of

days were the worst for me as my system emptied out; after that, it was

manageable ... no

running to the bathroom. Good luck with everything!!!
