I think a swimsuit is a major victory...haven't wornone since I was 10 years old. Applause! And what a nice sales lady...you should have brought her back a cookie!

From: vanessa bobo <vjbobo2003@...>Subject: NSV Date: Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 11:39 AM

I had a neat NSV last Saturday. I was at Dillard's looking at bathing suits (on sale for 75% off!) and the sales lady came up to me and said " you are in the pluz sizes, I don't think they will fit you!" I had not even noticed the sizes, but I was shocked that she didn't think I needed a plus size, because I always feel everyone still looks at me like a pluz size person! It is funny how are self image doesn't change as fast as our bodies do! Any way I bought a size 10 swimsuit!!!! !

You know what mixed emotions are?

It's when $500 suit you bought in September for job interviews is now too big.

The jacket hangs loose and I can take off the pants without unbuttoning them.

Somehow, that means more to me than the scale numbers on the scale - this is

progress I can feel and see. But uh, I still need a new suit.

Hi Cyrena,

I was just thinking some of the same thoughts. This is what I can add to your list.

1. I can bend over and tie my shoes without any problems and don't feel out of breath.

2. I can sit on the sofa and cross my legs now.

3. I can wrap the towel after my shower around myself almost twice as much as I could a few months ago.

4. I noticed for the first time in a long time, that I have to snap my bra up another set of hooks.

5. I really crave walking now and need to do something physical every day.

6. I have a lot less clothes in my closet because I gave away ALL my large size clothing because I am NEVER going to need them again.

Hi Dano,

Congratulations to you and your success. I just thought I would ask why are you still doing clear liquids? I know for most of us we were looking forward to each stage in the process and couldn't wait to move to it. It really is nice to move on to the next stage unless you aren't feel well. This is all part of the process learning to eat in the different stages that they recommend. Believe me I do understand what it feels like to have the success. Just don't forget why you did this. I hope it was because you wanted good health and to learn how to manage your life with food in it and to be able to maintain your goal once you got there.

Take care of you first.

I was able to cross my legs for the first time in many years last week. I wasn't even aware I could do it. I did it without even knowing until my husband pointed it out. Small milestone but amazing to me.
