Guest guest
Hey everyone, I just wanted to make a small comment on how wonderful the surgery is (Band or Sleeve), but it is an immense amount of work. A lot of people seem to think that it is a means to an end. Let me tell you I have been at the gym more in the last month than I have in the last year! I count my calories, but it's much easier now (not a whole lot to count!) But anyways, NO ONE is going to waste away with WLS surgery of these kinds without really trying to do so. Some people are made to be a size four, I'm not, but that is a normal weight for some people. Your own body will let you know when you have lost enough. Plus, you really have to work to even get down to a lower weight. I lift weights 3 times a week and do cardio 3 times a week....I'm not wasting away (far from it), but I'm much healthier and much stronger. If anything I would make sure that you understand exactly how much work it is to deal with this surgery, it is completely life changing. But to see these " great " results that most people have is becasue they have worked really hard to get there, and I doubt anyone of them were afraid of wasting away (correct me if I'm wrong). I did NOT realize how much work this would be (emotionally and physically), and I feel such a sense of accomplishment because I know that I'm in control of my body, not just becasue I eat less, but because I have made a HUGE effort just like everyone does who wants to lose weight. However, this for me is fail proof, I'm committed 100% to my own success (gym, candy cravings and all) Helena
