Guest guest
Kind of a dumb question, but can we chew sugar-free gum? I've been chewing more the last couple of weeks while doing Aktins/Liver- Shrinking diets to prep for my surgery this Thursday. It seems to get me over the mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and evening times when I'm hungry between meals. I've not seen any postings about this. Does anyone know? Guest guest
Sure, you can chew gum if you wish. I chew gum all the time. It helps me with head hunger. If I am chewing my mouth is busy and for me it works. The problem is if you are one to swallow your gum. You would not want to do that after banding. It would not go through your stoma well at all. ;o) But if you are not one to swallow gum, go for it! Guest guest
There are no dumb questions here! I chew gum a lot. It gives me no problems, including gas. : ) debil7777 <debil7777@...> wrote: Kind of a dumb question, but can we chew sugar-free gum? Guest guest
Debi,My experience with gum is not good. I've tried chewing it in the AM and it produces too much saliva and I have to burp to get the saliva to go down. I'm just too tight. Like today I chewed some in church after I had had my AM drink and it was fine, but if I chew it after a big meal, I produce too much saliva and it is like trying to drink on a full stomach, just not happening. I don't think there is anything wrong with chewing gum and having a band, it just doesn't work for me.
