Guest guest
Hey Trish, Hang in there and don't give up. I'm not very experienced with this yet since I am a newbie but I know how hard it is with the higher BMI's. My BMI was about 59 on surgery day and I an sure that I was the largest person being banded that weekend. It sometimes seems impossible but keep working at it and remember you are 30 pounds lighter than you were on your band day (my birthday). If you can get some help with the head stuff, go for it. Sometimes it is just nice to have an impartial person who listens without judging and reaffirms all the positives in your life. a DOB May 9th,2008 (365) 345/322/170 From: ladywotch@... <ladywotch@...>Subject: Re: Re: anyone not having success Date: Saturday, June 7, 2008, 2:16 AM Well, I'll admit I am struggling. I had the band on 12/29 and I've only lost 30 - it should be much more. I don't have great mobility because of my size (I had a BMI of 68 on surgery day - and Dr. A is my hero for taking me on) For me, these last few months have been all about the head hunger/emotional eating. I have had several "should of, could of" discussions with myself about the sleeve - and honestly have just stopped reading about it (no offense to anyone - its just that I need to focus on what I HAVE, not what I can't have, or didn't have, KWIM?). I was emotionally getting so depressed, so this week I'm back to embacing my band and LISTENING to what my body needs - not what I want. Most of the time it works - and its definitely on the upswing. The junk just goes down easy - but doesn't give the body anything. But when I concentrate on the protein first, it really is amazing how much different I feel. So, its back to remembering that even with a coupon (wink wink) the junk just can't come in the house in the first place I have the big VG band, my last fill was 5.8 cc's - which honestly is okay most of the time - its at night when its looser. I probably need another fill to get me to that sweet spot, but now want to spend some time retraining my brain into the game and work it for a bit, before heading down south again. (I'm not a heat kinda girl! LOL!) Of course, if it really gets hard, I'll head down south, heat or no heat! LOL! If any of you success stories out there can share ideas for lunch, dinners - even via private e-mail, I'd love it. Chicken causes me grief more than steak, but my hubby is marinading everything now so its at least moist and goes down easier. And I've left the vision of a deck of cards in his head so he knows that my size protein when he cooks. I guess its all about being proactive- and for the last few months, I've been reactive - and it just doesn't work.
