Guest guest
Hi , I had my surgery in Mexico and plan on having my fills done at Tacoma radiology. They use fluoroscopy. I'm pretty sure Dr Oh or Dr Fox will do fills for you, they are in Federal Way. Donna Seabeck, WA 8/27/02 Dr Rumbaut - 43 lbs
Guest guest
. My husband and I use Tacoma Radiology. We like them. I have heard other people complain that they are rude, but Tom and I have always been treated nicely. $250 cash, check or Visa. They use floro which is nice since they always hit a bulls eye! Jan H. Dr. Rumbaut 3-19-2002 240-178-150 fill doctors Hello, I had my surgery six weeks ago and am ready for a fill. My doctor assured me that one of the women he proctored would do my fills for me, no need to contact her in advance he said. Well, it appears that this doctor will NOT do fills on another doctors patients. So, now I am clueless as to who I should see. I have not paid any attention to who you all have gone to because I thought I was all set up with Dr. in Portland. I would love to hear either on the list or privately who you have gone to or have not gone to, the good, the bad or the ugly. Either way, I will have to travel so I am open to any suggestions. I live in Vancouver, WA. Thanks, 8-23-02 -
Guest guest
> Hi,> > I had my first fill on October 14 at Tacoma Radiology. I was really less than impressed with Dr. Weiss (he spilled out a bunch of the saline before the first injection onto the floor, so he couldn't > tell me how much he had given me), Are you a waitress and have you ever spilled any coffee? Are you a typist and do you typos occasionally? Are you a receptionist and have you ever transferred a phone call out into la la land? Are you a cook and have you ever flipped a pancake on the floor? Everyone makes mistakes. Accidents happen. While we don't want medical mistakes, something as simple as spilling a little bit of fluid out is not life threatening to you. All you need to do is ask for dr. to remove all and try again. I notice when I am extremely easy natured and compliant, all medical professionals treat me happily and easily in return. I know there will soon be other places out there that will do fills. But for now, Tac Rad is one of the original. Dr. Weiss is one of the first out side of Dr. Wurst to offer to learn about this band and to work with us bandsters. We should remember that even though we are paying customers/patients, these interventionalist doctors are used to working on some very ill people. Yes, our obesity is a disease that is unrecognized; but many of us are basically healthy; or we are better able to cope than some of the more critically ill patients. Tacoma Radiology has several interventionalist that do fills. I have had the pleasure of being filled by Dr. Wurst, Dr. Weiss (I was his first as he was learning under Dr. Wurst's tutelage), Dr. Scholl, Dr. Pashoto (my spellings may be incorrect). Tacoma Radiology identified my broken port and gave me my x-rays at no charge and returned my $200 for that visit. They have been patient with me only wanting tiny fills until I feel right; this last time I was past the 10 day grace period because they mean 10 calendar days and I thought 10 business days – my fill was not enough, I felt wide open. I felt horrible having paid $250 and not having anything work. I asked if they would waive just this time and guess what? They did. $50, Dr. Pashoto worked with and was extremely patient with tweaking. I wanted this one right. I thanked him and his assistant over and over. He said, we are very empathetic with this procedure as it relates to this adjustable gastric band. We want to see everyone have good results with this. We just want to do it safely. I admire that. I admire them. Especially because they don't have to do this. Basically, they were kind of pioneers in the agb fill arena – not in the procedure, but in the fact that they are willing to take us on as patients. , this post is not an attack on you. I hope and pray you can understand this. I sincerely hope you have a better experience when you are filled again. It is just that there are so many places we can go that don't do fluro and for the super easy ports that is great! But for us more difficult ports or new patients or first time fills, Tacoma Radiology is super. Dear everyone, I am truly not criticizing, just sharing and maybe I am opinionated. Guest guest
julie, i agree. i always let them know at TRA how much we bandsters appreciate them doing fills. dr elan is my personal favorite, and the nurses too it seems, at least that is what they tell me. sure beats going to mexico for a little band tweaking. Guest guest
-- I understand what you are saying, however, when I asked Dr. Weiss if it had mattered that he had spilled, he told me that it did not. As someone who was going in for their first fill, I found him to be very uncommunicative about the whole process and what he was doing. The assistant was wonderful, but my impression of him was that he seemed to busy to help me. He didn't even come back in and remove the needle, the assistant did that, which again, I understand that she too is trained, but it just reinforced my impression of him not having enough time. He also couldn't answer any of my questions, which would really have been nice, particularly about how restricted I should be, how much does it normally take, and such. I have an 11cm band, which he had very little, if any according to him, experience doing it. So he seemed really surprised about how much saline was being used. I too, am very easy going, (I didn't complain about the fact that I had to drive 4 hours to make my appointment, and then had to wait for over an hour past my appointment time to see him. but I honestly did feel that his bedside manner was sorely lacking. I was very appreciative towards the staff, they were great. I am sure that Dr. Weiss is great, although I have been told by other people who have seen him, that their impressions were pretty much the same. My original post was just to put out feelers about other fill doctors in the PNW. I did not really know what to expect, and so in that regard, I was really looking for someone who could give me a little guidance in what to expect, etc. Sorry to seem so defensive, but I felt that I needed to explain that my opinion wasn't about TRA, but only about Dr. Weiss, and that I was open for more information about other fill doctors. > > Hi,> > > I had my first fill on October 14 at Tacoma Radiology. Guest guest
> -- > I understand what you are saying, ... I'm glad you were not offended. I know you have to drive a great distance. You may want to check out Jessie's new place. Jessie is quite agile with a needle -- I watched Robin (aka Mork) get poked at the slumber party early this year. Jessie is good! That will be a definite another fill option. Take care & I wish you luck!!! in Centralia WA

Guest guest
Hey Leona, Where are you in Indiana? I'm in northern Indiana in South Bend. I drive to Cincinnati for my fills because of being banded in Mexico and that's the closest doctor I could find that would provide aftercare in that situation. He no longer accepts ANY patients banded ANYWHERE other than his own surgery center. lbbbbice <lbbbbice@...> wrote: I used to live in Florida and now moved to Indiana I have not been able to find a fill Dr here yet does anyone know of any or any in the closer surrounding states.. thanks Leona
