I am going to get my band this Friday 4-4-08. My question is are you getting your fill in AR? If so where?

Re: I have my band!!!

Hey Dawna! :o) I've not had time to read the board much lately but I've been thinking of you, knowing you had your band by now. I'm glad to hear everything is going good! :o) I'm glad too that your experience in Mexicali was everything we've all said it would be. :o) Dr. A really is great and has an outstanding team working with him.About the swelling...I found that mine was pretty much gone after about a week. The more you can get up and move around, the better off you'll be too. When I first got home, I'd take the dogs out for a walk and it was nearly torture trying to make it around the property (equiv. of around the block). I'd get about half way thru and wish to heaven I'd gone ahead and put in that bench around that one big tree down on the far end of the place. ;o) I would have to make do with just leaning against trees and resting tho'. It was a good week before I could do the walk

without a break and another week before I quit being out of breath when I got back to the house. Each stage of the post-op diet will help with the energy, so hang in there.I will give one bit of advice. Start thinking about your first fill! :o) I've still got nearly 3 weeks to go for mine and I'm hating this. I can literally eat anything and nearly as much as I could before the band and it's plain torture knowing I can, knowing I shouldn't and being famished if I try to stay in the 800 calorie range. I sooooo need that fill!! If you have a choice, I'd recommend aiming for at *least* the 8 week mark. The recommendation is 6-8 weeks post-op and for me, I certainly could have done that. As it is, I'm going to be about 11 weeks post-op.Have a good one!! :o) in AR

You rock. That's why Blockbuster's offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost.
