Impossible. Kefir is a pH of 4.5. The stomach should be about 2. (I could be

wrong.) The stomach has to make its own acid with raw materials from the

diet, namely salt.

Hi, I'm Sheri,

Dr. Aceves did my sleeve back in November of 2010. I am loving the results,

learning to eat well and adjusting to the restriction. But after 4 months still

having to use and acid blocker. Has anyone else had the same issue. I am

wondering if I will have to use it indefinitely or if my new stomach will

eventually adjust.

I'm also 13 mo. out and still take 1 omiprozole 20mg a day. My PCP told me that

when it's time to quit taking them I needed to come off them slowly. Like cut

down 1 dose a week till I'm off them. I tried stopping at 4 months out and had

to go back on them.

However, I can skip a day or so, but I am also 13months post-op.

Sheri, For me at 6 months out, I am not taking anything regularly. I still get slight heartburn a few times a week, but only a few of those times does it require taking a Tums or Rolaid. The other times it is a brief occurrance and then as soon as it came, it is gone!I've been off any OTC meds for about 2 months. I have learned what foods/drinks are going to cause it and try to avoid them.Sent from my iPhoneOn Mar 14, 2011, at 2:12 PM, "pokeysher" <pokeysher@...> wrote:
