Guest guest
Kaye, Someone here a few weeks ago mentioned a wonderful doctor who did fills in Texas and didn't charge much....does anyone else remember? eeliegirl <eelie@...> wrote: Congrats on the surgery approval, Kaye!! You're really on your way now, eh? ;o)As to the Texas doctors, I can't speak much on that really. I've been in touch with one in Tyler who I'll be using as she's about the closest to me that's remotely reasonable. I only know her as Dr. and she's $200 cash and uses fluorscope. She was also banded in Mexico altho' not by Dr. A to my knowledge. She's also in another city in Texas periodically but I'm not sure where. College Station maybe? I didn't pay much attention to that as Tyler is the closest to me.As to telling about being banded in Mexico, well, there's really no way around it I think. Not and have proper care. When you leave the hospital in Mexicali, they'll give you data to take to your next fill doctor that will identify the type of band you have, where the port is places, what was done during surgery, etc. It's the information the fill doctor will need. Since it's on letterhead it'd be kinda hard to hide the fact that it was all done in Mexico. You will likely have a hard time finding a doctor who will take Mexico patients. We had a discussion about that a week or so ago here on the board and it seems to be universal that most US doctors currently don't want to accept Mexico bandsters. I got a bunch of hooey when I called one for fill information and asked why they won't take a Mexican banded person. Some others on the board can probably give you some more hints about how to local fill doctors who *don't* have a problem with non-US patients so hopefully they'll chime in. ) in ARDOB 1/28/08297/277/200 for now>> Can we get messages on the board from people who have had fills in the US.. particularly Texas??? Are they expensive? Reluctant? Absolutely negative? Do doctors here have to know you were banded in Mexico?l What say you group?> > PS This is Kaye from Texas and NINA sent me my surgery approval tonight. Looking for last minute shopping deals?
