site?

Thanks Dianne - I did recently get my results and am a secretor - whew!

Except for the fact that non-secretors are allowed avocados and I'm not, I

think being a secretor will be a little easier? Don't know if that's

correct or not....have been watching the postings and in view of recent

discussions, I'm glad I joined this group. Have been on the diet strictly

for a week. Before that - easing into it.

Hi Patt and Osssssssssssssss:

Body Genetics Protein Shakes, I are distributed by Body Genetics Founder

ph Christiano, who wrote the book " BloodTypes, Bodytypes and You " . I've

never tried their shakes 'cause I didn't know what was in them. You can't

buy them at the store. Apparently they come in " bloodtype " flavors. Maybe

they're on his website. www.bodyredesigning.com. However, I also heard Dr.

D has a shake, or is coming out with one. would know.

Best wishes,

karen

Dr D has protein shakes in the making which will be secretor friendly, same as

food bars will be secretor friendly. They are

in the final stages now and should be ready next month. Right now don't know

price or ingredients.....

What I meant was good for both secretor and non-secretor - friendly for all.

Kind of like a 'generic' term, since secretor

status is what is needed to know today to be in tune with Live Right book.

, what 'problem' is that, not losing weight? Also, I noticed someone

had recently posted a good brand name of a powdered protein made from

rice... would appreciate that name again as well as any good,

readily-available brand names of egg protein.

Thanks,

NUTRIBIOTICS - rice protein

All egg protein powders currently available are made from commercial

eggs - a big no no.

There is no " problem " with rice, but it is not digested well. Shouldn't take

the place of animal protein.

The simple answer is, you don't need any. Real food is better if you have the

time. Most people do only 1-2 shakes a day if they have them at all.

Protein Shakes

I know it's dependent on the individual, but should you have two

protein shakes a day or three?

I tried the Pro Blend, and it was EXTREMELY hard for me to drink it

down. It was soooo watered down, it wasn't even funny. Mines was

really cold. I am afraid of the Protein part of it. Because those

shakes are hard. They leave a bad after tastein my mouth..matter of

fact it taste like meat to me

Vicki, I bought proteinex, a pre-digested protein that has the

consistency of cough syrup. Tastes pretty much like that too. Two

tablespoons are 15 grams of protein. I did that for a month in addition

to the meat/tofu/other protein food.

The proteinex isn't too bad, and it could be a life saver. Even now,

when I'm not feeling too well, or I KNOW I haven't gotten my 80-90 grams

of protein down, I use the supplement.

Remember, there are also other protein foods out there that are NOT

meat. In fact, there is a GREAT tofu ice cream recipe that I like!

Vicki,

I used Pro-Complex from GNC before my surgery. I'd mix it with non-fat

milk, then add crushed ice and blend throughly. That came out tasting a

lot like a milk shake. Unfortunately, I can't tollerate whey based protein

suppliments since the surgery and the soy based products leave me with a

bad aftertaste also.

I tried freezing a shake one time, no good. It separates too fast and you

end up with two layers, the protein with minimal water on the top and the

rest of the water frozen solid below. It's almost impossible to eat.

I have tested dozens but the best I have found is Musashi P40. Chocolate is ok

but the strawberry is great. I blend the prescribed amount with:

1/2 water

1/2 milk

2 tablesp Fruit of the Forest yoghurt

1/4 cup frozen mixed berries.

It tastes great for breakfast and has 40g of protein!!

Good luck!

Remember - your taste buds may change after the surgery, so don't judge

the flavor of the protein shake now. Also Atkins puts out a delicious

shake. If you're not getting enuf protein from meat, the shake may be

your only option. I like the taste of turkey jerkey myself!

Don't postpone joy. 1998 top wt. of 284.

Do you like Ice mocha drinks?

If so try this. I order the big train mocha mix ( you can order it

from Box of Goodies online) with sugar or sugarless. Then mix 2

scoops of problend 55 with milk and 2 scoops of mocha mix and ice to

desired thickness. I have had one of these every morning (that I

can- I crave them!) since I tried this. I found out about it by

taking one scoop with me to work and having the coffee shop add it

to my ice mocha ( I felt less guilt this way...lol) Then got smart

and do it myself. More protien, and more drink, and less cost.

Also I was lactose intolerant for the first 3 months. Then SLOWLY

added milk back into my diet. So putting milk in my protien drink

in the morning just adds to the punch. I know when I drink one of

these and concentrate on protien, that I get more than 100 grms a

day.

I even got ~amy c~ to try it(and she gags at protien drinks) and she

thought it was pretty good.

if you decide to get rid of your pro-blend I will take it LOL
