60 Day Update and Feeling Groovy!

Well I have successfully completed another month since my sleeve

surgery with Dr. Aceves on June 26, 2008. I have lost 10 pounds this

month. Started at 216 and today I weighed 206. Surgery weight was

243; so all time loss is 37 pounds. I guess you could say that is a

little on the slow side, but that is fine by me. I am somewhat

fearful of all the potential skin issues. I do lurk on the plastic

surgery page, from time to time, and some of the photos are pretty

dramatic.

I must confess I am not much of a fanatical exerciser. What I enjoy

is getting my exercise from everyday activities. I love to garden

and am at it most every other day. I dug up a garden from scratch in

April at this new house I just bought. Shoveled, flipped, shook, and

to the dump with all the sod on 1/3 of my front lawn. Distributed

fish compost and planted all new flowers, bulbs, and tubers. Also, I

walk every other day (on the beach where it is rocky, which helps

with balance and muscle toning), play Frisbee, badminton, and am in

the process of laying some laminate flooring in my bedroom and

hallway.

Eating is becoming somewhat normalized and I'm not paying as much

attention to every little gurgle and feeling in my stomach, as in the

first month. I'm looking forward to getting more veggies and whole

fruits into my eating pattern. I continue to take a B12 and multi

vitamin each day, also taking Omeprazole (Canadian heartburn

medication) twice a day. I am looking forward to being able to stop

this medication but this will be a trial and error process as

heartburn is a terrible feeling. Please feel free to comment or

critique at will.
