Guest guest
Dear Friends, I truly believe that what happened at the hearing really will and has already made a difference. I am truly grateful to , Katrine s, Dr. Simone Sommer, Ginny Lane, KC, Sharon Kramer and others for working so hard to get people there and get the word out. It made a huge impression for local politicians to hear from people outside of Massachusetts who suffer from all the medical problems that their local constituents register. The gloves are off and the sleeves get rolled up! What an honor to meet so many people I have just known from this chatboard and to rekindle friendships with those we have met in Washington DC and other settings. I kept saying to Janet s " I can't believe I am actually meeting GingerSnap! " What a doll she is! I would write more, but I too am sick from being in the building. I am slayed by it. I do know that the doctors in the room took note of it. The condition of the building was raised in the hearing thanks to Dr. Sommer. What we did was so important to reaching a solution to this problem. I thank all the groups who sent along Mission Statements to include in the packet that went to the Boston City Council, the medical/scientific evidence, and most of all, the compelling, heartbreaking stories sent by people of great courage and the almost 900 names in the petition that had been previously sent to congress through the efforts to Sharon Kramer and MD Awareness Week. As I have stated before, I know it is a good omen that this happened in Boston because Revere was the first Public Health Officer in the United States!
