Hi Chloe, Welcome! The lapband is the best weight loss tool ever...I was banded 9/26/06 and within the 1st 6 months had lost roughly 60 pounds...My total weight loss now is 66 pounds...I wasn't as heavy as some but I was still miserable and unhappy with myself. My starting weight was 204, I'm 5'4". I was in a size 18 jeans and x-large top...I'm now 138 and in a size 4/6...I've never been this small before and I am loving it... My husband is being banded this month Feb., 16th!!!! He too isn't real heavy but like me is miserable....His health is becoming a major concern so we need to get him healthy...He is 44 y.o. 5'9" and weighs 240...Since he is not tall that is alot of weight for his frame...He wants to lose about 60 pounds and weigh 180...I've not seen him at 180 for 25 years...I'm so excited for him! Men have alot of the same issues that women have over their weight...At least my man does and I've talked

to other women who agree with me...So it will be good for him to lose and feel good about himself again... Well I wish you all the best...I hope you can soon be banded too...By the time you get the band you'll be well informed since you are already studying and learning all about the lap band...
