Guest guest
Hi y'all, As I said, it's been a month now since I had surgery. I wanted to know if this is common or should I have it checked out. During my VSG, Dr. Aceves repaired a hiatal hernia as well. I know what a hiatal hernia is, where it's located and how he repaired it. But, ever since surgery, even drinking just water, after I swallow, it feels as if there is something caught in my throat at the base of my throat. It reminds me of pre-surgery, when I would eat too much and then have to swallow some water to wash the piece of food out of my throat. I'm not eating too much at any time. As I said, I can get this feeling just be drinking water. It's worse when I eat food, and I'm being very careful to chew and chew before I swallow, even cottage cheese. It does eventually go away. Sometimes I have to sip a small amt. of water to help. If everyone here tells me this is something that they've experienced and that I just have wait for it to stretch out, then I will wait. But, if this is uncommon, I will either contact Dr. Aceves or my own PCP for further investigation. Thanks in advance for your help.
