I do have to say that if Carmen is gone Norma give a good shower also. She gets right in there with you.I was terrible one day Carmen was gone and Norma was busy,so I told the other girl I would wait until the afternoon to get my shower, then Norma gave it to me.Funny how we trust some and not others..lol God bless, Pat in Taft, and I am glad I was able to help someone this hot,hot day. Who didn't even know we could have popcicles...pooooo

I think the nurses got tired of me naming my ice chips (tacos, hot fudge sundae, etc) and took pity on me. Sharon in Onyx the only purple that came out of me was my first poopie! Yea, Norma is one of my favorites too. She gave me my other shower, but had a trainee with her who dropped one of my drains. Not Normas fault, and boy was Norma upset. I felt kinda bad for the young trainee, but that was after the shock of the dropping wore off. lol Sharon in Onyx

Guest guest
-How's those Andalusian Horses Carla, what beautiful animals they are. These postings were the best for me as well. Please don't be to hurt by some ones thoughts. By putting all of them together, you ahve so many ideas and angles on the disease. In the end it is your body and you must make the decision that suits you. I myself chose the heller myotomy and am living much more comfortably with A and do not regret it. Everyone here respects your opinions and do keep in touch. I think if we could get a cure for the spasms we would all live much more comfortably. Have you read all the past posts on what everyone tries for them. Some like popsicles, I tend to drink water as they come on and sometimes can stop it. But for me nothing really can work for those real hummdingers. I have been drinking camomile tea. It doesn't stop it but at least sipping fluids feels a little better. -- In achalasia , andalusianlady@... wrote: > > Hi Marilyn > > I am really happy you posted to this group......I am a very new member who > has been going through this for a long time but not officially diagnosed. Guest guest
Hi Carla, I was hoping that you would post soon. I love hearing about your progress. 13 lbs is GREAT !!!! I am with you about not being able to drink many of the protein shakes. And I hate the vanilla flavored whey protein. I have just ordered some chicken flavored Unjury and some unflavored Unjury. I have been going to Jamba Juice and having them add protein boosts and vitamins. I try for 2 a day but am lucky to get 1 in. I basically was living on broth. ( the ' b ' word ) Honestly, I felt pretty weak after surgery, so I didn't buy sugar free everything. I ate regular popsicles, etc. The second week went much better, but I got no where near 80grams of protein a day-maybe 50. I just started mushies today. I had some mashed potatoes ( about 3 tsp ) some mashed broccoli w/cheese soup. And a little bit of cod mashed up. All in all I was able to get in about 1/4 to 1/3 cup. My incisions are pretty much healed over, and I went back to work Monday night. So far I've lost 21 lbs. This change in diet is probably going to stall me, but what are ya gonna do? I'll tell you ,this first 20 lbs has taken a load off my arthritic knees, and I have even gone back to the pool and started some deep water aerobic exercises. I'm feeling the effects from this surgery already, and am happy I went through with it. I love not feeling bloated, and I think I was always walking around feeling bloated. Please stay in touch !!!
