Oreos used to have whey in them here and only the holiday versions were ok.

They have since changed their ingredients to match the mini oreos and they are

now dairy free.

Mom to Grace 8 (THI, IgA def, Antigen proliferation defect, pneumococcal

antibody deficiency, mild asthma, chronic constipation)

Mom to Caelan 6 (IgG, IgM, IgA def, Antigen proliferation defect, pneumococcal

antibody def, asthma, Eosinophilic esophagitis, severe food allergy)

Mom to Ian 6/4/05 (GERD, otherwise incredibly healthy so far!)

My little boy begged for oreo cookies and last week I finally gave in.

Oreos are usually one of the banned items in our home. They are so yummy and soooo bad for us all.

They have been sitting on the counter near my pc staring at me all week...

Good luck to everyone fighting the fight.

Oh boy, are you funny!

We wouldn't be in this group if we had never "cheated"! That's what we are, first and foremost, cheaters.

It's a learning process for sure, and like every learning process, there's an uphill struggle and occasional downhill slides.

We are also learners, and we call this new approach to food "learning" because it's learning when we try to eat right and then pay the consequences when we don't.

So there is here in the altered eating patterns a learning curve like so many other actions in human behavior.

Try not to dismiss yourself. It does not help your learning curve.. Stick with it, and besides, you have no choice but to move forward and monitor yourself. Somewhere there's an explanation, and if there's not a reasonable explanation, agree to watch your behavior more closely.

Now, with that said, I've been imagining a box of Oriole cookies and a quart of milk all morning! I'm not "altered" yet, as you might guess. Maybe next month.

Ed
