Dear Brothers and Sisters of the VSG!

I just wanted to share a food that I have been eating that is soooooo filling and healthy. I went to Trader Joes and they have the organic celery sticks with peanut butter. It is about 190 calories if you eat all the peanut butter and about 5 carbs. I don't eat all of the peanut butter and just dip the celery sticks in and eat about 1/3 of the peanut butter. So, I am getting about 80 calories and 2.5 carbs and lots of fiber.

Previously, pre-sleeve, I could eat a ton of these, now, the four little celery sticks with a few dabs of peanut butter are soooooooooooooooooooo filling I can barely finish the fourth little two-inch stick!

Believe me, if you want a simple low cal snack that lasts a loonnnnnnng time....try this!

Just thought I would share a little!

I'm flying to San Diego on the 21st, going in for VSG on the 22nd with Dr. Aceves...and already my stomach is churning, very nervous.I grew up in a small town in WY, so my parents would say that I am crazy to go to Mexico for surgery...probably the reason why I won't be telling them until I return.I'm 33, married with 2 awesome kids, and have been heavy for the 10 (almost 11) years we've been married. The last few years have been horrible for me. I feel like a freakin whale and can't move like I used to. I miss sports and now with my kids growing up (9 and almost 7), I want to be able to be there for anything for them.It goes back a lot further than our marriage; I remember growing up on the chunky side and my parents always on a diet or trying to watch their weight. The summer between my junior and senior year I lost a lot of weight and was actually somewhat thin my senior year in high

school. In college I blew out my knee playing basketball and I was a lot less active after that, I started gaining weight.I eat all the time now. I'm not hungry, but it's a habit to go to the fridge and open it to see what I can throw in my mouth. I've tried most all the diets throughout the years, and some work very well for me. After a several months of a diet though, I have a weak day, then the weak day turns into a weak week, then month, and so on until I am back to what I was before I started the diet plus some. Atkins worked really well for me. Lost 40 in 4 months, but now I find myself 65 lbs heavier....gained the 40 back and topped it off with an additional 25. I've tried atkins several times since, but get discouraged very easily and can't stick with it...knowing the weight will come right back.I've never written anything like this, actually I'm a pretty unsocial guy, but am

now scheduled for surgery in Mexico and would like to hear from anyone that has a similar story or has any helpful words for me.
