I tried getting in, but I couldn't get in - I'd press the code and the pound sign and there was no one there - so I thought a) I dreamed up this conference call while on my pain killers I got the date and/or time wrong due to my brain fog which has been quite thick lately and doesn't show any signs of lifting c)I got the wrong group here - did that yesterday! d)I'm in the Twilight Zone and pretty soon the show will be over and my life will be back to normal anyway. :^) Kinda hopin' for " d " here, but I doubt that will be the case. Anyway, I was looking forward to the conference call so I was wondering if any one of you were able to get in, and, if so, what tidbits of info did you come away with? First, I slept from 6pm last night until 6am this morning and woke up feeling mite free and energetic. Dr. Staninger said that this long rest was very good news because when her protocol starts working you get very tired for awhile because the side effect of killing these things is a release of carbon monoxide in to your system which makes you very tired as if you'd been in a closed garage for awhile with the car running. I think (from talking to the other people she's treating) the most effective part of this protocol is the oxygen capsules she gave me. Apparently they help your energy flow which these things don't like. (They prefer people who don't fight back and have a slow, unhealthy flow.) Then, I went and got my AIDS test done which was NEGATIVE!!! THANK GOD... I'm too busy dealing with uninvited guests anyway. Seriously though, it was a great relief to get that out of the way and I am VERY glad I did it. Next, I called the good doctor to give her the news and while I had her on the phone, I asked her about organizing a conference call with a few of us and her response was- " Hmmmmmmm, I wonder how I'd bill you guys for that. " There was a really long pause and then she broke out laughing and said- " I was playing with you! Can't you take a joke? Of course I'll participate in a conference call, I think it's a wonderful idea actually. " She also told me that it would have to be after 6pm PST due to her schedule and she doesn't know how or have time to figure out how to organize such a thing so that would be up to us. She went on to say that she thinks conference calls would help multiple people at the same time AND she feels that it could potentially be a very valuable source of info for her to be able to continue her work. The most interesting thing she said was that we could be a valuable information resource for future studies because of the mite aspect of this. The way she explained it is, that they don't know how this gets transmitted most of the time and that these mites are actually huge in size and easily studied compared to other theories they have about how this is transmitted. " Atleast they're something we can get our hands on and look at " was what she said exactly. She ALSO said that she has a colleague who is a " comparative biologist " that she will talk to tomorrow about us sending mite samples to for identification and then for later study on her end so that they may figure out how these mites became involved and how to stop them from being involved with getting us sick in the future. This is great news and I think we're on the way to evening the playing field with these things once and for all- so to speak. I am ready for the next step- just tell me what you need me to do... I had it in my mind all day at work that I needed to call her tonight but I had to go to a meeting and I couldn't miss it so I was going to call her tomorrow. I'm glad you called since you already know her and you didn't have to explain who you were. I have a phone number and conference number set up so we can use it can hold up to 97 callers. I know someone who I do business with that sets up conference calls and I'm going to ask him how he records the conferences so we can save the call. This way others can listen-in in the future and we can refer back to. I will start a thread called questions that we can start posting questions to. I will put them all together into one email we can send her and she can pick the questions she wishes to answer or has time to answer. I'm really exited about this and I hope everyone else is too. Please tell her she can scheduel for whenever she wants to call because if people miss the call we will have it recorded. Tim or MM can we post sound files on this forum under the files section? If not my brother in law host servers with websites on them and I'm sure he will host it for me. Hopefull we can post it here so we can have a one stop shop here. Please if you post on another site(s) help us get the word out about the call so it will benefit Dr. Staninger as much as it will benefit us. As she will most likely be addressing skin parasites not just bird mites. So, SOM I need you to 1. Call her and tell her the floor is open to her time and scheduel 2. Let her know that some of us have other skin parasites such as nematodes. I'll ask my friend if he recommends a different phone conference company and how he records the calls. I don't want to give the numbers I have in case he recommends a difference company altogether. I have been at the end of my rope for a while and I need some hope, this is it. I have lost almost everything I had, gone deep into debt just to find out that I have also infected my parents who don't have the energy to fight this on their own. Guest guest Posted January 3, 2008 Report Share Posted January 3, 2008 To Mel: We could never see our mites when they were crawling on Neal, but when we sprayed the mattress and white sheets with steri-fab and later with windex, we could (barely) see them on the white background and that was the only time I was able to lift some with scotch tape. Neal did capture one with the roller tape from his neck but that was one I took to the dermatologist so didn't get to see it myself under magnification. She said there is a possibility that it could be something else altogther that you may need an electron microscope to see. She also said not to waste too much time on ID as you are wasting valuable time you could be spending addressing the real problem which is just getting them off of you and out of your environment which doesn't require id of what it is specifically in her opinion. You should call her- 323-466-2599 -CONFERENCE CALL UPDATE / INFO- She also said that she has a system for this conference call which SHE would like to organize to happen 10 days from today. She said this is for security reasons and that she's " been down this road before " and wants control over how it goes for the safety and security of her practice and personal well-being. I know that 10 days seems like a long time but that's the best she can do. She actually has a host for the call which is Quantam Tech Solutions (a co. that manufactures equipment to identify / deal with this). She said she spoke with them today and they are very excited about finding out what we know and she also said that we have VERY valuable information for them because we're a group that they can talk to about this which is obviously rare. There will be an 800# for everyone to call and she said if you're in the LA area, you can come to her office to participate if you like. She asked me to " field all questions that you want answered " so that she can go over them ahead of time and be prepared to deal with same. If someone else would be better suited than me or would like to do this (FL- hint, hint) then let me know.... SO! What this means is we have to decide what questions we want answered and have them ready within 10 days. I realize this is not exactly what we were planning on our end but I think it's still great that she's willing to help us in this way. Please let me know what you think about this as it's obviously up to each individual how they'd like to proceed. I am just acting as a messenger so please don't get mad at me if this isn't what you wanted! (I still think it's great myself.) I'm off to the sulfur springs (FYI- Dr. Hildy said these springs are amazing by the way. I was thinking about spending the money and buying a better microscope, but I didn't know what kind to look for, now I know. Thank you!! I have to have some kind of mite. these things actually bite me and it hurts and they are extremely difficult to get rid of. as if you all didn't know that! he he.... grrrr. anyway, I haven't been on the computer much because they are infested and I don't want to get bit up, but I co2'ed my laptop and I am outside in the bright sun shine with my laptop right now, can hardly see the screen, and i have gloves on, too. She asked me to "field all questions that you want answered" so that she can go over them ahead of time and be prepared to deal with same. If someone else would be better suited than me or would like to do this (FL- hint, hint) then let me know....SO! What this means is we have to decide what questions we want answered and have them ready within 10 days. I realize this is not exactly what we were planning on our end but I think it's still great that she's willing to help us in this way. Please let me know what you think about this as it's obviously up to each individual how they'd like to proceed. I am just acting as a messenger so please don't get mad at me if this isn't what you wanted! (I still think it's great myself.) I'm off to the sulfur springs(FYI- Dr. Hildy said these springs are amazing by the way. It should be: www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/iiin/birdmit.html If that doesn't work, it is under Iowa Insect Information Notes using google to search for "bird mites" Neal had several crawlies last night and when he got up he sprayed sheet with witch hazel and I found a few dead ones and lifted them with scotch tape. I taped these on both sides so maybe I can get better pictures when I get access to microscope again. I called CedarCide Industries this morning and we talked to the rep for them for quite a while. He said they had developed a non=toxic alternative to DEET in partnership with Dow Corning that is based on Red Cedar Oil. We ordered 3 gallons of the product called BEST YET and he told us to open the return air vents on our a/c and spray into them for about 5 minutes each which will take fog all over the house, then go room to room and fog all of them thoroughly. He swears this will kill them all and we are desperate so will try and see. The product will be here monday. I will let you know what happens. You are right most of the conference calls I have been a part of everybody is muted and then they just unmute themselves to ask a question when the floor is opened up. Maybe next time one person can ask questions and then open up the floor but we will have to try and keep the conversation on one subject at a time. Twice my neighbor called but I couldn't tell if that beep was heard by all. Then I just muted my own phone and listened also. I wonder how many people called? From the amount of beeping I'm guessing more than 10 people attended the call. The recording quality is not great but it can be understood. It is about 70 minutes total, split into 4 mp3 files. It would be great to have a transcript made, unfortunately I don't have time to make a transcript, and I'm sure you guys are as busy as I am with work plus all the cleaning rituals. Unless someone objects, I'll post the conference call MP3 files tonight on the files section.
