Guest guest
Hi all, I found this on one of the other groups that I am a member of. I did opt out it only takes a minute. Just an FYI for all of you using any . For your information ... is now using something called " Web Beacons " to track Group users around the net and see what you're doing and where you are going - similar to cookies. is recording every website and every group you visit. Take a look at their updated privacy statement: <http://privacy./privacy> http://privacy./privacy About half-way down the page, in the section on cookies, you will see a link that says web beacons. Click on the phrase web beacons. That will bring you to a paragraph entitled " Outside the Network. " In this section you'll see a little " click here to opt out " link that will let you " opt-out " of their new method of snooping. Once you have clicked that link, you are exempted. Notice the " Success " message on the top of the next page. Be careful because on that page there is a " Cancel Opt-out " button that, if clicked, will *undo** the opt-out. Feel free to forward this to other groups. see also,
Guest guest
I don't think we've even seen the tip of the iceberg on snooping and removing our liberties and freedoms Sandy. Thanks for alerting us to yet one more intrusion by big brother. I figure within the next few years some of us will be imprisoned because someone at the top doesn't like what we say, think or how we live... Time to wake up America;-) << snooping Posted by: " moonshadow.sandy " moonshadow.sandy@... moonshadow.sandy Fri Jan 16, 2009 10:50 am (PST) Something that was passed along to me from another group, I am passing along to our group. is Tracking Group Members If you belong to ANY - Beware that is now using " Web Beacons " to track every Group user. It's similar to cookies, but allows to record every website and every group you visit, even when you're not connected to . Look at their new Privacy Policy statement at http://info. / privacy/us/ /details. html About three-quarters of the way down the page, in the section on " Cookies " , you will see the link that says " WEB BEACONS " . Click on the phrase " Web Beacons " . On the page that opens, find a box entitled " Opt-Out " . In that section find the link " opt-out of interest-matched advertising " that will let you " opt-out " of their snooping. Click it and then click the opt-out button on he next page. It may want to set a cookie to remember this " Opt-out " so click " always " for that one. ** NOTE: 's invasion of your privacy and your ability to opt-out of it, is not specific to this one action. It is MACHINE specific. That means you will have to opt-out on every computer (and browser) you use. ** I will be doing mine NOW.>> Kem in Eugene Dr. Neal 8.6.04 <º)))><
