I had a water bed, but after it sprung a leak years ago, I put an air

mattress in the frame and I love that. The only thing I miss is the

heat in the winter.

TOXIC MOLD SURVEY: www.presenting.net/sbs/sbssurvey.html

B> I wanted to get a hide a bed sofa for my efficiency apt for my first apt and

my dad who is in furniture business said not to, they are bad for your body,

those flat springs are no support. A sofa

B> bed is only meant for one or two nights for company you have no room for.

They aren't meant to be a regular bed. Forget how it looks and get a regular

bed and plain metal frame from perhaps

B> Value City or something. I don't like to sleep on box springs and they will

cost you extra, so another way to save money and look less bedroomy is this: Go

to Home Depot or similar and buy a

B> 80X38 plain wood DOOR slab, no carvings, just the plainest thing they have.

I was at Home Depot yesterday and they have a plain wood door slab for $19.95.

It has a hollow core which is even

B> better because it makes it very lightweight. That size door is ALSO the

exact same size as a twin size mattress - COOL, RIGHT? So then just buy an

inexpensive but new, clean mattress from

B> someplace inexpensive, I guess

B> Value City and wha-la you've got a new bed pretty cheap. OH, you have to

put bedboard up on something. You can put it up on wood blocks also buy some

cut to size you want to Home Depot or

B> similar. NOW Wha-La you have bed. AND a mattress on a BOARD, is much better

support for your back and more comfortable 'to me' than a box spring. Many

people put a board UNDER their mattress

B> which makes the box spring useless anyway. Your pillow will fall off the top

of bed if you don't put it in corner or up against a wall or if you have handy

friend or you are handy you can get

B> board at Home Depot and attach it to head for headboard, now Wha-La again bed

with headboard!! Much better than stinky old infected sofa bed. Put some

decorator sheets on it.. Cover the

B> headboard with designer fabric or paint it or put clear finish on it,

whatever.
