Guest guest
Jeff, As beer relies on yeast [a mold] in the manufacturing process might there be a relevance? I am allergic to certain white wines.. I've been told I'm probably allergic to the yeast generated by the fermentation process in that particular wine. ken ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Charlton<mailto:j-charlton@...> <mailto: > Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2005 1:51 PM Subject: RE: [] Re: ^Testing carpet for mold and bacteria- how? I just got a piece of usefull Christmas information. A friend of mine got drunk and came out in hives and allergic reactions. He looked like he was going to die and friends took hiim to hospital. The emergency team had a look at him and asked if he had been drinking Budwiser, not the most popular bear in the UK. He said he had, and the doctor told him it has the highest wheat content of any beer and that it was most likely an allergic reaction to the wheat which may or may not have a relevence to mold? regards jeff Charlton in London -----Original Message----- From: Barb [mailto:barb1283@...] Sent: 06 January 2005 17:26 Subject: Re: [] Re: ^Testing carpet for mold and bacteria- how? Yes, I am ALSO allergic to dust and dust mites. In fact I test positive to 14 out of the 16 environmental allergens in my first allergy test, some more strongly than others but this all of a sudden (to me anyway). Dust, dust mites, weeds, grass, trees, bugs, on and on. I don't like drapery anyway but came with the house years ago and putting ANYTHING over the windows new is expensive so have been holding on to them. maria2sangria@... wrote: Not only is that a good idea to try to reduce mold spores in the home, but also dust mites which cause problems for a lot of people. We have no carpeting, no drapes, and washable blinds (just the cheap kind you can buy at WalMart or Target) that can be washed with soap and water. We do have some washable rugs - like in the entryways and the bathroom and some curtains over the blinds in the bedroom - but the curtains are machine washable so they are easily cleaned when they get dusty. We also have an air purifier too - which greatly reduces the dust in the house.....which also cuts down on how much dusting you have to do on the furniture too....an extra bonus!
