I am strongly considering having my implants removed. I haven't had

any physical problems with them, I'm just tired of how fake they feel

and how they make me look matronly. (Not to mention how hard it is

to button blouse, etc..)

Any advice? I've had them for 3and a half years they're about 360ccs

and are under the muscle. My concern is how badly my breasts will

look without the implants; will they sag?etc..

Also; I've been given the quote of $2675 for the procedure. Does

this sound reasonable from anyone who has had it done?

Sue,

Make sure you check out the pics on our site--we've got many explants up so you can feel good about looking alright...I don't think many of us end up looking like the Bride of enstein....just make sure you find a good explanting surgeon who knows how to do it right, and we do have a list on our group in the files section. Glad you've made the decision to remove. You will be liberated by it.

Coincidentally, I am considering taking my implants out too. I am

lukcy that I don't experienced any physical problems. The reason for

my consideration is the fact that it is hard, not pretty looking, and

I can't face any guys nude. I can't hug properly. It actually limit

my opportunities.

Can anyone share with me their experiences with dating and how they

guys react to the implants?

desperately,

Judy.

Hi,

I have all of the things mentioned and more, I'm just not ready to buy a new wardrobe or look at my flat chest or possibbly experience the cysts behind the nipples again. That's why I have the implants now. Not because I wanted them, but a breast doctor suggested it. I've had 10 different sets of implants since 1984, because of hardness and many other things. I just feel caught up.

Jeanine,

You sound like you have been through quite a number of nightmares with implants, if you have had 10 different sets of implants. And you have all the symptoms we outlined in the home page? How long have you been sick? And when do you think you want to start moving forward toward healing?

,

You are in great hands! I couldn't direct you to a better place than Dr. Feng's for your answers. You may only want to get those tests to see what is going on with your body, in terms of autoimmmune disease, but for the most part, tests aren't going to help you any more in regards to your decision. As for healing, the tests are beneficial in terms of treatment for things such as thyroid disease, but most other autoimmune diseases are treated with toxic steriods which help with the inflammation (like prednisone), but for long term health, it appears that those do best who pursue alternative, non-toxic forms of healing.

Hi everyone,I just wanted you all to know how much I enjoy all your input and I have decided to have my implants removed in December. I have had saline implants for 14 years. A long time... I have been in pain for 8 years....fibromyalgia, TMJ, had surgery for a C5-6 spinal fusion. I never thought about my implants making me sick because I had saline and I thought they were so safe. Plus, about 5 doctor's told me that my illnesses were unrelated to the implants. I started reading all of the signs and symptoms on this website and realized I had almost everyone of them. Last year, I was all ready to have them out and then my father got stomach cancer and died. We were really close and it took a toll on my emotionally and physically. What do you all think I need (testing) before surgery? I have a high c reactive protein which is a big risk factor for heart disease and is present with inflammatory diseases. And my lymphocytes were extremely elevated. Do you think I need an ANA, silicone sensitivity test? Dr. Feng is going to do my surgery in December.Thank you so much for all your support. Your emails are so uplifting.Take care,

You can request to keep them or to be sent to a pathologist of your choice. Many women here have sent theirs to Pierre Blais in Canada.PACCOAST@... wrote:

I have a question for anyone that has gone through this........what do you do with the implants once they are removed? Should I ask for them? Supposedly they get sent out to a pathologist by the plastic surgeon. Do I want to see them? I hear it can be pretty bad once they've actually ruptured.

What brand are they and are you in any class action?

That would be the first question in saving them.

If not, then I am unsure why you would want them, unless you want to pay to

have them evaluated for fungus, etc.
