Guest guest
Kim, Check through all the recent posts about it. It is a product that increases cellular levels of glutathione, a potent detoxifier. ----- Original Message ----- From: " kim przybylski " <kimp885@...> < > Sent: Monday, August 25, 2003 6:54 AM Subject: Re: immunocal covered by insurance > Dont mean to sound stupid but what is Immunocal? Guest guest
I just talked to my doctor and my insurance company about getting this Immunocal prescribed, since I am in the state of NV, and this sounded good! Anyway, bottom line is that my insurance won't pay anything for it because it is an over the counter "drug" and they don't cover anything over the counter. Plus, my doctor said he would rather I use BioChoice instead of Immunocal. I wasn't too keen on this one because it is made with egg, and I am wondering about egg allergies, but he wants me to give it a try anyway. http://www.bio-choice-products.com/ Sooooo, I'll buy some and see. Anybody ever use this stuff? Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: *~Patty~* Sent: Monday, August 25, 2003 6:11 AM Subject: immunocal covered by insurance For those with insurance, this is worth looking into! http://www.hms-90.com/immunocal2.html#medicare Q. Is Immunocal® reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance programs? A. Yes. Although Medicare and Medicaid do not endorse or "approve" any company's product, Immunocal meets the coding determination for coverage by Medicaid, Medicare, and many private insurance programs. Although the purchase of Immunocal® does not require a doctor's prescription, a prescription is required for reimbursement coverage under Medicare and Medicaid. NOTE: Immunocal is the FIRST product sold by any direct selling company in the world to ever meet this strict criteria! This is a phenomenal accomplishment for a non-drug "nutritional supplement", and clearly establishes a higher level of validation and credibility for Immunocal! Immunocal has it's own NDC (National Drug Control) registry number: 28770-0970-01, and is being approved on a state-by-state basis for reimbursement. The code for Medicare is: B4155. Currently, Ohio, New Jersey, Minnesota, Nevada, and New York have established reimbursement guidelines, and decisions in 18 states are currently pending. In some of these states (notably New York State and California), Immunocal® is available without restriction on Medicaid. In other states, the physician must be willing to write a letter of necessity in addition to writing a prescription for Immunocal® to be reimbursed. Immunocal® meets the requirements for enteral nutritional supplements which are covered by Medicare/Medicaid for nutritional management of the patient. This is available for general practitioners to prescribe. For Medicare patients, current coverage is limited to Naso-Gastric (NG) tube feedings, but Medicaid is much less restrictive. Medicaid has broader prescribing parameters for both oral as well as tube-feeding nutritional management. Immunocal® will be one of the few nutritional supplements to be listed in the year 2000 edition of the prestigious Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR). Physicians have relied on the PDR for up-to-date information on prescription drugs for over 50 years. The PDR is considered the standard prescription drug reference and can be found in virtually every physician's office, hospital, and pharmacy in the United States. Immunocal's inclusion in the PDR is a reflection of it's credibility within the medical community, and is also a result of our recognition by Medicare and Medicaid. Guest guest
Oops, did some more looking, and I decided against this stuff, because it is made with SOY. I definitely have a problem with soy. I get brain fog every time I eat anything with it. ----- Original Message ----- From: *~Patty~* Sent: Tuesday, August 26, 2003 2:07 PM Subject: Re: immunocal covered by insurance I just talked to my doctor and my insurance company about getting this Immunocal prescribed, since I am in the state of NV, and this sounded good! Guest guest
, I just placed an order for Immunocal, will try that and see how I feel on it. However, I also ordered a product that my doctor suggested instead of the BioChoice, since I balked at the egg and soy in the ingredient listing. He suggested BioPure protein instead, which is also on the Silicone Protocol as an alternative to Immunocal. I found it cheapest here: http://www.makeripples.com/Shop/ProductPage.asp?StockNum=BP001 This company also has great customer service--fast communication and very kind. I expect my BioPure protein in a couple days, so I will probably be trying that one first. I hope to see it do something positive! My primary reason for taking this is to increase my stores of glutathione, since I am doing the coffee enemas pretty regularly. I don't want to take any chances on depleting my reserves of this potent antioxidant. I'll let you know how it goes.
