, I have to tell you that the first time I met my friend, Debbie, who has Sectoral Heterochomia Iridis...I was in awe. I couldn't believe how beautiful her eyes were. That is why I want to celebrate this condition in my book. I swear, if this book does as well as my others, I can see people going and getting contacts and asking that they be given this "look." I do not see my sectorial heterochromia as any kind of defect. It is somewhat of a blessing to me. My mother tells me that they noticed my eyes at about 6 weeks (when those dark eyes of a newborn start to lighten up). My first recall of my eye color was when I was in the first grade, and they were doing a chart of hair and eye color, and mine were checked by two different people, who got two different results. People comment all of the time on my eyes, and they always say...."I wish I had your eyes" !!! I was also born on Halloween, which is an added BONUS !! I would never call my eyes "spooky" and would hope that no one experienced a "queer shock" when they saw me. That description is not too desirable !! >> Good morning. Thank you, Irene! Hey, what's "normal" and who wants to be any way? :-) Debra Best Selling Author of Son of My Soul - The Adoption of , A Very Special Child - An Adoption Story - co-author Jesus Gandhi Oma Mae "; scribe for Bullfrog Catcher http://www.DebraShiveleyWelch.netI firmly believe that I have received the same child I was meant to receive whether I gave birth or adopted. -- Re: Sectoral Heterochromia iridis - asking for literary help

I am 20 years old, and I have a band of darker brown in my brown (left) eye. I've had it ever since I can remember and I thought it was totally normal (like everyone is suppose to have it) because no one questioned me about it. I don't think my parents noticed it since they never said anything. I recently just asked my brother about it, and he didn't even know I had it. I think it's because the colours are so similar. The first person who noticed it was a friend I met about 3 years ago. It was the second time I saw her and we were at a hotel. The lighting must have been very strong for her to see it just by walking beside me. She commented that it was 'cool'. It was also the first time I realized that this isn't normal. The second person to see it was also a new friend. We were on the bus and there was a lot of sunlight coming from the window. She stared at me for a long time and so I asked her what was wrong. Turned out she thought she was being delusional when she noticed the two shades of my eyes. We ended up missing our stop. And no one has ever commented on it ever again after that. None of my families know about it, nor do my long time friends. I guess it's just hard to notice. =DGood luck on your book!>> Good morning. My name is Debra Shiveley Welch and I am an author.
