Guest guest
Sounds like you have a lot of symptoms. You may have a rupture(s) which intitials you to bucks. I strongly suggest an excellent MRI because if you are ruptured you have to prove you are ruptured before explant. Its even worth waiting for. Probably you've already incapsulated the spill and waiting even another month will not hurt you. If you do have a rupture and it is a Dow Corning silicone implant you immediately get 25,000. i had ultrasound of breasts and it did not show but both of mine were ruptured. Look for my post of symptoms too. See if you're having those symptoms, it sounds like you are. You can claim for disease also, depending on how serious your symptoms are. It is very important to get the Lot number, however at explant it may not be found, which is common. This will come from your original doctor. After surgery get pathology report and explant operation report. Get origanal operation report also, it will have valuable information for your claim. I've tried to pass on as much knowledge as I can to you all coming up for explant. I am having some elevated symptoms post explant. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis and have more joint pain and inflamation. Explant was extremely painful for me the first day, I think the stiring up of the silicone really put chemical burn on my open wounds. I hope your implants are not as old as mine were, 15 years. That is why I think it was rougher for me. Mine had been ruptured for an undetermined amount of time. Really try to get a good MRI its really important. Instant big money if you can prove you have a rupture. And don't be afraid to think its a possiblity, the damage has already been done. If you're entitled to money why not go about the procedures properly. See I think, from taling to pathologist, once there is a rupture the body seals the foreign body in a capsule, hence capsular contrature. I had an ultrsound but it did not show up the defects of 4mm in right breat and 5mm in left breast. I'm not talking about pinholes. Congratulations to on her Aug 15th surgery!!! I want to thank the list for their sharing of information. I contacted a lovely local doctor that was on this list's list. I am all set to explant on Sept. 1, 2003. I am excited and nervous. I will be doing it in the Dr's office and without anesthesia. I will let you know how it goes.OH BTW, I finally made it to a Rheumatologist after a long problem with insurance, he disregarded the suspicion of lupus and diagnosed me with arthritis and fibromyalgia. I know I am in good company. He suspects maybe rhematoid, because my mom has that, but for now is calling it osteo. we'll see. Hugss to a bunch of deserving women.~kim
