Dear friends:

I hope and trust that this e-mail will reach you in good faith and order.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you our children

letter writing campaign, which we have just launched few weeks ago

with the hope that to collaboration with your organization. But I also

have a more specific query.

Earlier this year we made the strategic decision to develop a

children's letter-writing campaign on pediatric treatment and

diagnostics. We just launched the campaign on the 20 November, with

the aim of it being a year long effort in the run up to the 20th

anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in November

2009. We have also finalizes a simple printed resource for teachers

called Prescription for Life, which will also has links to additional

detailed information on the web.

The recent publication " Prescription for Life " ,

a joint effort of the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance, Education

International and the Treatment Action Campaign provides information

and resources for schools, families, faith groups and communities to

empower young people to write letters to pharmaceutical companies and

governments to improve testing and treatment for infants and children

living with HIV.

Letters generated from the year-long action will be used to keep

governments accountable to commitments made in the Convention on the

Rights of the Child and also used in focused advocacy with

pharmaceutical companies by EAA participants. An exhibit of the

letters will be prepared for the 20th anniversary of the Convention on

the Rights of the Child on 20 November 2009.

The six page guide is available at

http://www.e-alliance.ch/accessmeds/children. The English version can

be downloaded immediately and versions in Spanish and French will soon

be available.

We have the financial resources to print and distribute this

publication (at least a reasonable number), so we are not inquiring

about funding.

Thus, I am writing to you to request if your organization will be

willing to:

- promoting the resource on your website, through your programmes and

network

- distribute of the resources

Thanks so much for considering this request and I look forward to

hearing from you and exploring future collaboration.

Sincerely yours,

Thabo
