Guest guest
Dear Wise Owls and new readers. This is a true testimony. At my post explant appointment, my PS said both of my implants were silicone not saline as I had thought, and BOTH ruptured for an unknown period of time, could have been years. I suffer from severe fibromyalgia one of the worse case scenarios from this poisoning. I need help filing a law suit. I fail to have to major pices of information: my original PS and the silicone manufacturer. However, they are approximately 15 years old, put in implanted: 1988. I've read Dow Corning pays maximum dollars for ruptures with my symptoms but don't know if there is a time limit. Where do I begin? Ladies like Colleen and Natural Beauty38 can you help? I'll be looking up information too. I already have a SS case pending and will be adding this to my file. There is a disability code for Silicone Poisoning, which is: USA Social Security Disability Code - Silicone The ICD-9 code is 989.83. It is listed under TOXIC EFFECT OF OTHER SUBSTANCES, CHIEFLY NON-MEDICINAL AS TO SOURCE, such as Asbestos, Tobacco, Lead, etc. Subtitled as SILICONE POISONING. Silicone is 989.83 I will need a doctor to say that I have silicone poisoning. My PCP did state in a letter that my Fibromyalgia was probably caused from my silicone implants. I have my Pathology report and implants. I know at the Saline Library there is a part of the Pathology form letter which helps us determine which manufacturers made which implants. Should I take my implants to a Lab somewhere? Where? Please help. I'm still claiming full recovery. I am a survivors and am doing fine. I am now doctoring an infection in one of my breasts. I feel well though. Shouldn't I see improvement now that these ruptured implants are out? Love and Blessings to all of you victims.
Guest guest
Hi , That is unfortunate that your implants were silicone gel instead of saline. This is not the first time I've heard of doctors doing the switcheroo without the patient knowing it. I've known a few women who were shocked to find out upon explant that they've had silicone gel all along when they thought they were implanted with saline. So, welcome to this horrible world of deception that our "trusted" plastic surgeons have propagated. First of all, let me clarify for you the whole idea of improvement once your implants are removed. Some women notice immediate benefits--like brain fog disappearing, local burning disappearing, headaches going away, and a general feeling of improvement. However, (and this seems especially true with fibromyalgia) many women experience no immediate improvement at all, but seem to experience a gradual and very slow improvement over time. And when I say over time, I am talking years. Healing from silicone related illness is going to be one of the longest journeys of your life, and there is no precedent established to show exactly how long healing takes, or how complete healing is. It is an individual affair, but we can say with confidence that many, many women will experience a great amount of improvement once the offending implants are removed. I have experienced an improvement in my blood work (although it is still not normal) and some women have experienced a normalization of blood work-- is our best example of that. Others have just experienced a gradual return of energy, a gradual disappearing of symptoms and a brighter outlook on their future where before it seemed very bleak. Healing times vary greatly, with some women feeling great within 12 to 18 months, others taking many times longer. Keep standing on your faith in God. He is our greatest healer and hope for justice. You can still get involved in the Dow lawsuit. It will entail a huge amount of work on your part to gather the correct information, but I do know that the final cutoff date has not passed in order to be included. We do have a couple links in our files on the Dow lawsuit, so please check them out. Try these: http://www.dcsettlement.com/ http://www.fjc.gov/BREIMLIT/mdl926.htm When your implants were removed, they should have been handled in a professionally and medically responsible manner. If they have not, then your case may have problems from mishandling, but maybe not. Many women have had their implants analyzed by Dr. Pierre Blais, an expert on failed medical devices. His info is in our links section, along with all the other info on the pathology letter. Please look through the links. Dr. Blais is a wonderful man, very nice, and will explain all that you need to know. There are attorneys who are still taking cases for the Dow lawsuit. I've posted links on this before...I think if you do an Internet search for "Dow lawsuit" you will find some links for them. I wish you the best! Guest guest
Vicki, do you know the name of the hospital where you have in implants put in? If so, requesting that record should supply the info the attorney needs such as Dr. and implant manufacturer. Take care of yourself and take time to do something you really enjoy to help reduce some of your stress at this time as well. Guest guest
No I do not know the original doctor's name. I was so care free and freeless I never looked back. I had just moved in the area and it was 15 years ago. Do you know any Lab that can tell me of the manufactureer? Thank you for responding, . Yes I'm going to take it easy and remember the most important thing is regaining health. I posted my Pathology report.Dee Todd <deetodd@...> wrote: Vicki, do you know the name of the hospital where you have in implants put in? Guest guest
, Dr. Pierre Blais can tell you the manufacturer, style number, probably the dates they were used, and anything else you will want to know about your implants.
