EC 2006 Grants on reproductive and sexual health and rights in developing

Dear Colleagues,

In an effort to promote information sharing, the Sexual Health and Rights

Project (SHARP) is passing along a funding opportunity from the European

Commission (EC). The EC recently launched the Programme of Aid for Policies

and Actions on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights with the

beneficiaries to be " the most vulnerable populations in developing

countries. "

The objectives of this initiative are:

1) to secure the right of women, men and adolescents to good reproductive

and sexual health;

2) to enable women, men and adolescents to have access to a comprehensive

range of safe and reliable reproductive and sexual health care services and

products; and

3) to improve access of women to basic and comprehensive essential/emergency

obstetric care.

The budget for the program is 18.5 million euro for grants of between 1 and

2.5 million euro per project. Please see links to documents below for

related guidelines, application, budget, logical framework and concept note

both in English and in French. The deadline for proposals is September 19,

2006.

It is SHARP's hope this information will be broadly shared with interested

stakeholders and that these funds can be accessed by organizations led by

and working with socially marginalized populations.
