Guest guest
Lynn, this is great news. I'm very happy that to returned the call. It's a relief to know that he will have some input. He really does have an obligation to help you through this. I know you aren't looking forward to another scope. Did to say that you should wait or do it right away? Or x-rays first, then make the call? At least the x-rays won't be a problem. Will he view the x-rays, too? Maybe that would be a good idea. Let me know what other information you find out. Hope today is pretty good for you. [ ] surgeon > Hi Guys, > Hope everyone is feeling okay today. It is cold here in Pa.. I can't > believe it but my primary actually got to talk to the surgeon to. Guest guest
Hi Lynn. This is really great that your doctor got to talk to to. I know you're not looking forward to a scope, but if it tells what is going on, it may be worth it. Scar tissue can cause so many problems. Has your eating been any better? a > > > > [ ] surgeon > > > > Hi Guys, > > Hope everyone is feeling okay today. It is cold here in Pa.. Guest guest
Hi , I think the x-rays will be first. I am still in shock that he even talked to my Dr.. You have brought up a good point about him reviewing the x-rays. I am going to call his office and let them know I will have all test sent to him. Can't hurt to give him the information. Thanks for mentioning having him check things. Right now I am waiting to see what the GI Dr. tells the primary. to did say though that he believes that it is scar tissue. Of course my mind goes back to cancer and such but the primary told me that everything was negative, still it is a worry. It seems scar tissue is a common problem `Hope you are having a good day. I won't put painfree for awhile or at least till my hands type what I want them to type. Guest guest
Hi a, No one ever mentioned scar tissue to me. Actually, no one ever told me what to expect after the surgery. Eating is okay except I get nauseous and that is why they think it is scar tissue. I don't eat a lot but enough actually gained a 1 1/2. With such a small stomach it is hard because I get full very fast. Anyway, I think it will take the year they told me and I am moving forward. I do feel stronger and that is a plus. Having a terrible time in school. My economics class is so hard this will be my first bad grade. I just don't understand it and it is out of my field. Right now I feel the world is crashing in on me and that is not helping. It has been such a long road with social security and wc plus I loss my daughters ss money in June and that will be a big chunk out of our budget. So we are tightening our belts now getting ready. It is all so stressful and this doesn't help the stomach. I am just praying and trusting in God to help us. He has so far. Hope you are having a GOOD day, I won't put anything about pain. Glad your back, we missed you, Lynn ---------- > From: a <paula54@...> > > Subject: Re: [ ] surgeon > Date: Monday, February 18, 2002 7:46 PM > > Hi Lynn. Guest guest
Try not to worry about the cancer possibility, Lynn. You know that every doctor (a large group by now!) has said and every test result (a lot of those, too!) has indicated that there is no evidence of cancer anywhere, so just try to believe that you are OK in that department. I can understand why you would continue to feel anxious about that, but try not to be. It is a huge concern that you have been feeling so bad and unable to eat month after month, but I'm hoping they can find a better answer for you and improve your situation very soon. Time could also help. Don't give up on that possibility yet. Considering the magnitude of your surgery, it hasn't been that long. (Easy for me to say.) Yes, ask to for input along the way - he owes you that. What about digestive enzymes? I know you mentioned that as possibly part of your treatment strategy. Have you tried them yet? I know that this has been going on for so incredibly long and, with everything else happening in your life, that you must feel terribly discouraged. I'm so sorry. Try not to lose hope. Things can get better. Forget the economics class. What is the worst that can happen? A bad grade? A need to repeat the class? Well, I know you don't want that and that you are a smart, conscientious student, but, under the circumstances, it is amazing that you can attend at all. Don't be so hard on yourself. You've accomplished a lot at school already. Your will is strong, your body just isn't cooperating yet. It's OK. It's not your fault you're not feeling good. Painfree, painful - either way, I know what you mean, LOL! That was so funny. You and a gave me quite a good laugh over that one. Re: [ ] surgeon > Hi , > I think the x-rays will be first. Guest guest
Lynn., Scar tissue is a potential problem for all surgeries. I am very proned to it and it's caused me a great deal of problems after 2 surgeries. It's great to hear that you've gained a bit of weight. Hopefully this means that you will continue to gain. I know it must be very frustrating to you. A year is a long time to recover especially when it affects your eating. Try not to stress over the economics class. I know it's hard when you strive to do so well. I've been avoiding taking algebra for the same reason. Although I did ok with it in high school, that was to many years ago. Concentrating on economics when so much is going on around you, isn't easy. I admire you for trying. I just wish your disability would get approved so that you didn't have financial worries. I just lost my son's SS so I know how you feel. I had hoped to be working so it didn't affect the budget so much, but working just didn't work out unfortunately. We have to keep our faith that things will work out. You can write about pain. I just had to tease you about it. hugs, a Ruf-Caimi wrote: > Hi a, > No one ever mentioned scar tissue to me. Guest guest
Hi a, I thought what I wrote was funny too. Not at first I was embrassed but after I read it a second time I had to laugh. I didn't expect all these problems with the surgery and on top of it the RA is so bad. I see the Rheumy on Friday so maybe he will be able to help that. I guess I am just not going to do well maybe not even pass the economics class. I have so many problems right now that I am going to give it my best shot and if I fail than I can take it over. I'm not going to fall off the earth because I didn't do well in one class. Hate to fail it though. There is a person in my class who is taking it for the third time and another for the second. They just happened to mention it to us. I have spoken to the teacher so we will see. How are you feeling since you came home? I always found that after a vacation the fatigue for me was so bad, I was on the couch for a week or two. Hope you fare better. At least it is not too cold here. Guest guest
Lynn, Please don't be embarrassed. I can't count how many typos I've made. We all make typos and have a very good excuse for them. We are a medicated group in chronic pain. I'm sorry if my joking about it embarrassed you, I sure didn't mean to. I'm glad you saw the humor in it as I did. I'm glad that you're not stressing to much over the class. You're so right that you can take it over. It's probably one of those difficult concepts to grasp, but once you understand it, it's easier. Can you get tutoring? I feel surprisingly better than I expected to, thanks for asking. I think all the swimming, fishing and laying on the beach agreed with me. It was a very relaxing vacation, so I didn't come home exhausted like I did last year when we took all the kids to Disney. NO parks this year, just relaxation! Our flight was also excellent, not like last year when I spent 12 hours in the airport trying to get home. My knee replacements didn't make it through the metal detectors and they really gave me a once over before letting me board, and then they detained AFTER we got through security right before we boarded the plane. They actually made him take off his shoes and they pulled out his insoles! Must have been his Panama Jack hat LOL! I don't care what they have to do to us to ensure safety of our airlines. I'm just trying to get my taxes done and do all the paper work for my son's technical school financial aid It's so joyful. I'll be thinking about you on Friday and hoping your RD can give you some relief. a Ruf-Caimi wrote: > Hi a, > I thought what I wrote was funny too. Guest guest
Hi , Forgive me for taking so long but I have been spending a lot of time on the economics class. I don't know why because I just don't get it. My head hurts constantly. I wanted to wait to answer your note until saw the Rheumy. I told him how much pain I am in and he raised the metho and that is okay. He can't put me on anymore predisone because I am not on fosamax and will never be able to take it. He gave me a nose spray that is like fosamax and will help stop the damage from the predisone. I hope wc will pay for it because I just can't take on any more. I will see on Monday. I told him how bad my neck and arm are but he didn't say much. So when I talk to my primary I will complain about it till he does do something. Maybe it is time to go back to the neurologist. The reglan is starting to give me the stomach pains. So I think the way that is going to work is to take it for a couple of days and stop. Let everything rest and than go back to it. That seems to work. The trilfon I just don't know, I feel so strange on it but it works with taking the nauseous away. My stomach just feels better, but I stopped taking that. I think I will try it one more time if I fail well I will have to get through it. With so much on my mind it is hard to figure out what is what. I am so worried about everything. It just wasn't suppose to be like this. When you have surgery it is suppose to make things better. Not trading one set of problems for another. The Drs., tell this set of problems won't last it will get better. Think I will light a candle and pray!!! Hope you and the kids are well. Have a good week-end it is suppose to be nice but than the cold weather will be back. Guest guest
a, I understand what you are going through with the financial aid paper work. We are doing the same thing here. Glad when we are finished. I am glad you are feeling better. I would to get someplace warm. I would also like to get to the shore and just sit and watch the ocean, it is peaceful. Maybe in the spring or during spring break. Hope you have a nice week-end. Guest guest
Lynn, I am still laughing too. You should have called me instead of the resident surgeon!!!! I have been telling you all that stuff (except the stuff about the bile in the pouch) since you first mentioned the adhesions. Now, if they do need to go back in because of the bile in the pouch, they will look around for adhesions and take any down that they see, but they usually don't want to just go in " blind " based on a diagnosis of adhesions. PLEASE go to the link that posted for the both of us Welcome to International Adhesions Society and read the adhesions quilt. The people who have posted to that site will tell you how much these adhesions " don't hurt " . I receive their postings, but have not posted to them at this time, just kinda lurking, I guess. The stories there will bring tears to your eyes. They are from children to women to men. From back surgery to abdominal surgery to female surgery to hernia surgery. It's members are also worldwide so you will see read many different treatments for this nasty disorder and yes, it is a disorder! There is no doubt in my mind that this is something that I can add to my already long list of problems. The first time I read anything from them, I cried, because it WAS my story that the medical profession, for 21 years, has told me did not exist. One of the doctors I had at one time even had me go see a psychiatrist because they felt that " I liked surgery too much " ! Of course, the psychiatrist found no foundation to this theory and discharged me as fast as he saw me. But that lack of validation really did a number on me. Well, this will give you something to pursue while you are waiting for your wc claim to be resolved in your favor!!!!! Ya know, if we weren't sick before we started with all this nonsense, we sure would be sick by the time they ended with us!!!!! It amazes me the money that parents spend to send their children to medical and law school and have the professions so messed up like this! OK, I will get off my soapbox! One more thing, if your doctor calls back, see if she can prescribe something for pain as that is about the only thing that will help with the adhesion " non pain " pain!!!!!!! I hope you feel better soon, sweetie. Most of us southern ladies are planning a trip to Chicago come fall and we would like to have both the East coast AND the West coast represented!!!!! So everyone, start saving your pennies and get out that old Samsonite, we are all going to kick butt in Chicago soon....NO EXCUSES!!!! Although, everyone MUST carry their own medication suitcases! LOL!!!!!!! Gentle, tender, love them doctors, angel hugs, Debs in FL
Guest guest
Debs, I¹m so sorry that that clod head sent you to a psychiatrist because he thought you LIKED surgery. Sometimes I wonder how some doctors made it through medical school. Please let me know about the Chicago trip! I would love to be there. a > Lynn, > > I am still laughing too. Guest guest
Hi Debs, Well at least we got a laugh out of it. He told me, he believes the whole problem is bile in the pouch. Oh please I think the bile is the least of the problem. But he is a resident and in training. I called the GI doc and ask her to call down there and give an update. I will go to the site, I didn't before just forgot about it. Too much going on. At least things went well yesterday, they could have gone much worse. But now it is the waiting game again but I am use to it. Your right if we weren't sick before it sure will make us sick. Hope you are having a better day. Guest guest
Lynn, I'm very happy that you called to's office. Ignore the resident. Please do go! Hope you can enjoy the weekend, Re: [ ] surgeon > Hi Debs, > Well at least we got a laugh out of it. He told me, he believes the whole > problem is bile in the pouch. Guest guest
Hi , My appointment with to isn't till August 29th. I will have to talk to the GI doc or call back down there to try and move it up. My biggest problem right now is, if I should drop the semester or just see how it all goes. Thing is once you start their are no refunds and you lose the money. I don't want to drop the semester if I can make it to school. I have to make a decision soon but I think I want to try and go. Just wish I knew what was going to happen. The resident did tell me, that he didn't feel I should be walking around like this. What a mess things just didn't go the way I had hoped. I refuse to let all this and wc get to me. How you day is nice. Lynn (MeMom) wrote: > Lynn, I'm very happy that you called to's office.
