Guest guest
Hi Shari, I wasn't planning on sending them off to be analyzed since I'm healthy, but maybe I should. How much did that cost? Where did you send them? That's great that you are getting a refund check. It's good that your boyfriend tried to talk you out of it. I think it's horrible when guys try to talk their girlfriends into getting implants. I already had my implants for about 1 1/2 years when I met my boyfriend in 1999, so he has never seen the real me. For a long time I was nervous about how he was going to react when he found out my boobs were fake. It will be nice not to have to worry about having fake boobs ever again. So how long did it take you to recover? I am planning on getting the surgery done on Friday Nov. 21st if that date is available. However, Thanksgiving is the next Thur. on the 28th. Do you think I'll be okay enough to act normal around my family during Thanksgiving? Or is it likely that I'll feel too sick to eat? Also, this seems like a trivial question, but I usually help my family out with the dishes on Thanksgiving. Is that not a good idea if I had surgery 6 days before? Thanks for your feedback Shari! Not that you would want to travel down here, but he was a wonderful doc and did a great job. (removed capsules and implants completely) I would be happy to help you out in any way I can if you wanted to - Heck, after 4 breast operations myself I would be almost considered an expert at helping with recovery! Also - don't give up on your insurance. Mine also turned it down at first. I insisted on keeping my implants (VERY IMPORTANT!!) and sent them off to have them analyzed and after they turned up proven to BOTH be leaking as well as severely contaminated with mold, etc., I appealed and won. I actually received my refund check from my surgeon in the mail yesterday and am awaiting a refund from the hospital as well. I know how you feel about your boyfriend - I was 25 when implanted (1996) and shortly thereafter started dating my husband. I knew him prior and he tried to talk me out of it back then but I wouldn't listen. I am sure he liked the way that they looked but is much happier with the "natural" me. He never cared for the way they felt and unfortunately, I was one of the many unlucky ones that became extremely sick from the nasty things which has seriously affected our family. We have a two year old son now and it is very difficult to find the energy for him which puts an extra burden on my husband. I will never forgive myself for the stupid mistake that I made that has hurt everything I have and that will continue to rob me of my hopes and dreams for the rest of my life. I wanted a big family, a nice home - I wanted to be an active mom all of which has stolen from me due to the financial and health burdens this has put on me and my loved ones. Don't wait any longer than you have to - you do not want to be in my shoes at 32. You have made the right choice - never doubt that. If I can help, please let me knowlove, shari
Guest guest
Liz I am glad that your boyfriend supports your decision. My husband was happy for me to get them removed after all of the troubles I have had. As far as recovery goes, it is hard to tell. It will probably depend on if yours are over or under the muscle, textured or not, and how your body reacts to the anesthesia. Are you also getting a lift? That may make a difference, too. Mine were under the muscle 250cc and textured so it took a little more work to get them out as one was stuck to my ribs. I did not get a lift, either. I had the operation on a Thursday and I would say that I felt pretty good within a week except my doc didn't use drains and I ended up having to have fluid drained twice over the next week which wasn't much fun. I guess it really varies from person to person but it was signicantly better than my original operation. I was really sick for two weeks after that. I was still sore after a few days but it wasn't unbearable - come to think of it I had mine taken out on April 17th and went to my moms for easter Sunday 4/20 with my hubby and son. I layed around alot due to the pain meds but I was ok. My only real issue was my son - He was only 21 months old and I wasn't able to pick him up and carry him for a while which he did not understand and had a very hard time with. As far as the testing goes - it cost about $350 but I would recommend it as they may be leaking which may help an insurance appeal-both of mine had tissue growth with mold inside of the valve mechanism which was holding the valve partially open. I don't know what insurance you have but they may pay if there is leakage proof. I sent them to Dr. Pierre Blais in Canada. His info I believe is on file in one of the links but let me know if you can't find it and I will look it up. If I were you I would want this info in case you may need it someday. Hope I have helped shari
