Guest guest
Someone asked which Kirkman's Lab vitamin we actually use. I use the Everyday. It is hypoallergenic and contains no corn, wheat, casein, gluten, soy, starch, artificial colours or flavours. The multivitamin contains the basics of vit A, D,E C, b-1,b-12, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, zine, selenium along with taurine, l-glutamine, etc. It is not " high doses " like their SuperNu thera product. One or two tablets puts you at the 100% range for the RDA. They do make a Everyday without A & D for those who are supplementing with CLO oil. I know some on the list are (even though it is not a protocal thing). If you are supplementing with CLO, then I would get the Everyday without A & D. Sometimes people forget thattheir multivitamin already has some in it and they might be doing it out of the range that Dr. Megson suggests. The Poli vitamins on the supermarket do contain additives and that is one reason that we don't use it. I guess it works for some though. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com *just a customer of Kirman's- not a representative. I am just happy with their quick service and the fact that I can trust that it is truly casein or gluten free.*

Guest guest
Gaylen, If you go to the website vitaminshoppe.com, look up vitamins and most of the listings will give you their ingredients. I found one that doesn't have any flavorings or artificial colors there. Diane multivitamin What multivitamin/mineral do you guys have your kids on? I've been looking for a lower dose one my son can handle but no luck so far. Part of the problem is that he reacts to most of the things used to flavor kids' vitamins and the adult ones have higher dosages. Anyone know of a non-flavored kids' vitamin he could swallow? Another problem is that he has visual problems with vitamin A palmitate and reacts to citrus products which is also used in a lot of vit mixtures. So if anyone knows of one that doesn't use palmitate or citrus, doesn't have flavorings and would fit what Dr. G recommends, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Guest guest
That Futurbiotics one was the only one I found on the site (except possibly Nutricology's EPD basic) that might work for my son as well. I think we'll try that one -- thanks for the recommendation. I also appreciate the info posted on the Poly-Vi-Sol. I think it's a bit too young of a formulation for my 11-yr-old plus we don't do chewables with him due to the sugars and dyes they use in them he tends to react to. I imagine the info will be helpful to others though. Gaylen
Guest guest
Dr G recommends Enfamil Poly-Vi-Sol Chewable tablets - Mead . They come in a plastic bottle of 100, in a bunny shape. There are three colours - avoid the red ones. The Vitamin A ingredient is listed as Virtamin A acetate. No citrus ingredients are listed. You can call 1-800-BABY123 8am - 4.30pm Central time (they are in ville Indiana) or look at www.enfamil.com to get further information. Someone posted earlier this year that they thought this product was not available any longer. Friendly Hills Pharmacy in CA hasn't heard this and is sending me product that has expiry's a year out - e.g Oct 2003 which suggest it is still being made. Alternatives are the " Flintstones " or " Bugs Bunny " brands by Bayer. The formula's are identicle to the Poly-Vi-sol except that they come in more flavours and there are more red variants. They also list fruit acids as flavourings so this may not be as suitable to some kids. Hope this helps, multivitamin What multivitamin/mineral do you guys have your kids on? Guest guest
Colleen, I went through this same search awhile ago, and I came up with several companies that I added to our recommended product link page. Kathy also recommended a product for us that she finds very helpful, and I put that link on our list too. Here are a few suggestions. I have tried these two products: Metagenics makes a great multi-vitamin/mulit-mineral called MultiGenics that comes in either pill or powder form. I have tried both. I did notice that the multiple had either silicon dioxide, or some other filler in it that I was disappointed to see, but all in all, it has a great reputation. These products are only sold to licensed health care professionals, and the marketing of them is restricted. However, links are available. Dr. Shames, author of Thyroid Power recommends this brand to his patients. Link for info: http://www.healthcomm.com/products/catalog/catalog.asp?type=2 & val=17 Link for cheapest price I found: http://www.makeripples.com/Shop/brand/mg/ProductPageMet.asp?StockNum=MU030 Another great product is the Fatigued to Fantastic Shake by Enzymatic Therapy. This comes in powder form and is citrus flavored. It does not contain the B vitamins, (due to the nasty taste they impart to the formula), so the B vitamin is sold in a separate pill form. It provides a great energy boost, and this also is a very reputable company. I actually prefer this product over the Metagenics powder. (But sometimes I just want to take a pill and get it over with!) Link for cheapest price: http://www.iherb.com/dailyenfusion.html Kathy has recommended this product--she will have to tell you about it, but I am interested in trying this one. Nothing could be easier than taking a few ounces of liquid a day! It sounds pretty good..I have yet to decide which product I would try out of the 4 listed. http://www.druckerlabs.com/ I hope this helps you! I do think a multi-vitamin/multi-mineral is vital to us as we heal. Detoxing is not only about tearing down and eliminating toxins, but the other half of healing is rebuilding strong and healthy cells with quality nutrients. Guest guest
I was just looking at the drtuckerlab website and in the ingredients it lists silicon as a trace mineral , thats the question I had asked because its in so many supplements , should we avoid this? Barbara
Guest guest
Organic silicon should be safe since it is found naturally in the earth and our bodies do use silicon to build strong hair and nails . Some vegetables are high in silicon, such as green peppers. Silicone, on the other hand, is a man made chemical compound, and is inorganic. I really have no clue as to how our bodies react to silicone vs silicon, once we have been harmed by implants, but I have often wondered if perhaps part of our illness is a result of a toxic reaction to the silicone, much as there are warnings about toxic reactions to other trace minerals that we supplement with, such as selenium. You CAN get too much of a good thing, as is commonly known. I don't understand why the medical field can't see this as a possibility. Their often quoted defense is that silicon is everywhere, in everything. Somehow they think our bodies won't react to having too much of it inside us. My best advice is to go with your instincts and by how you feel on any particular product. If you want to completely avoid silicon in any form, you may be able to find a multi-mineral supplement without it. Just be aware of the quality of your supplements, and look for items that are derived from things found in nature. Many poor quality, laboratory concocted supplements may actually not be very beneficial. Kathy uses this, so she may be able to offer more insight on it. If I remember right she really likes this product. Patty PS: Here is some info on the trace mineral silicon, as it relates to health: http://www.internetarthritiscenter.com/siliconbenefits.html ----- Original Message ----- From: BARBY4271@... Guest guest
For 3 yrs, we'd been using the Poly vi sol rabbits with . We tried all the vitamins that CAN recommended years ago, but found that they made him hyperactive. But the rabbits are no longer made so .... I searched and searched. I finally asked my acupuncturist who gave me a stack of catalogs to look thru. THORNE Research Children's Basic nutrients I called the company and information given to me indicated they were GFCFSF. They contains Vits ACDEK B's, Thiamine, Folate, Iron, Ca, Iodine, Zn, Se, Mg, etc... The one problem is that you have to take 6 ... But we've noticed some nice things since switching over so I can't complain doris Message: 3 Date: Sat, 14 Aug 2004 01:53:01 -0700 (PDT) From: Barb Katsaros <barbkatsaros@...> Subject: Re: secretin/kutapressin/5 yrs into the protocol Doris, which of the Thorne multivitamins do you use? Guest guest
Dr. G has always allowed us to use regular Flintstone's and Scooby- Doo vitamins, but just not give the red ones.
