Guest guest
Hi, My name is Kacey, I am 21 years old, and I am very ill due to my saline breast implants (which I've had for two year). I have rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondyilitis (arthritis of the neck and spine) and can barely get out of bed most days. I found a wonderful plastic surgeon in the Dallas, TX area named Dr. Melmed and he has agreed that my problems are due to my implants and wants to take them out. The only problem is that my insurance just turned down my claim and will not pay for the $4150 surgery. This poses a huge problem as MTV is scheduled to do a documentary on me and my surgery starting Sept. 16 (my surgery is scheduled for Sept. 17). MTV's documentary will be a True Life segment featuring the negative aspects of plastic surgery. This is a wonderful opportunity to get exposure for the dangers associated with breast implants and MTV is more than willing to help me broadcast the story. I am the oldest of 8 children and I got very sick right as I was graduating from college, thus I have not worked full-time, EVER. My family is burdened with my extra financial costs as it is, and they truly do not have the money to cover such an expensive surgery (not to mention the fact that I still have about $2000 left to pay on my breast augmentation surgery). Is there any guidance or help you can provide? I want to be able to inform as many people as possible of the dangers of breast implants, but I fear that my opportuntiy to do so might be shaken due to the fact that I cannot pay for my explant surgery. Please, please help. Thank you very much, Kacey (kaceyalong@...) 972-342-9242
Guest guest
Kacey I am so happy to hear that your going to do the MTV show. I would say that in your situtation you should just borrow the money if you have to and get the implants out. It sucks to have to be in dept but at this point it is your only hope to get well. I do believe once you get them out your health will return slowly and surely and you will be able to get a job and pay back the money if need be. But you cannot ever hope to get well with implants in. I say beg, borrow, get a loan whatever it is that you need to and get them out. Dr Mehlmed is great, so he will do an awesome job. I am so so sorry to hear of your illness's but I do believe you can get well or at least better and that will be enough to get you out and working again. I had to work through out my illness because I was single and there was no one to help me pay for my home, etc, and it was so hard some days, but I got through it. I know you can too. As for the MTV show, I am so PROUD of you for having the guts to do this, I would have LOVED this opportunity but they were looking for younger women to do this show, at 39 I guess I am considered too old for the MTV crowd. If they would have let me I would have loved to do it, as it is something that really needs to be told. I hope that it goes well and I cannot wait to hear about it and see it on tv. Please please keep us up to date on things hugs In , " kaceybu02 " <kaceyalong@h...> wrote: > Hi, > > My name is Kacey, I am 21 years old, and I am very ill due to my > saline breast implants (which I've had for two year).
