Guest guest
Hey there girl, so sorry to hear bout the hair loss. I have to think it is something thyroid in nature. Maybe your a bit hyper rather than hypo, since your skinny and also those high temps, that could mean hyper. Do you get heart palpitations, anxiety, do you feel hungry all the time? That is what the thyroid med armour did to me. At first it seemed ok, but after a few months of being on a really low dose I started getting leg twitches, fevers, hot all the time, hyper, heart racing, even my blood pressure went up. I started losing hair all over, not in one spot, but just general thinning. Me always with the coveted thick blonde hair, arg! it sucked. It has taken me 6 months for the hair loss to stop. It finally has but only recently. My hair is now shiny and health again, I just cut a huge amount off to get rid of all that scraggly looking crap that the thyroid drugs left me with. I never needed the meds, my nurse practitioner(who is now retired) screwed me up bad, she told me I was very low when indeed I was borderline high, guess she could not read the labs right. SO I think if I was you I would be wondering if your slightly hyper. Just because one set of labs is normal does not mean your not flucutating on and off high and low also. It is such a tricky thing to detect, the fevers make me wonder though. Anyhow, I am not too sure how to treat hyperthyroidism, I know it is harder to treat, but also more rare. To me it does not sound like your hypo, I mean I am not a Dr so I cannot tell ya for sure, but ya know, it just seems fishy. I think the best suggestion is to go to that alternative Dr nearby and just fork out the cash( i know hard to do that) and see what he can come up with. That would be the best suggestion. One thing for sure, once that hair thing gets out of whack, it takes allong time to get it back to normal. I cannot believe how long after I stopped that damn armour my hair kept shedding like crazy! It is still not thick thick like it used to be, but my hairdresser might disagree, haha it took about 4 hours to highlight wash cut it etc, so I guess I still have allot left, at least now I only lose about 10-20 hairs a day, there was a time it was like 100 to 200 a day, scary stuff. Anyhow hang in there. Oh yeah I like the nioxin products, I still use them, I don't know if they really help or not but I will continue to use them, I alternate with bed head and joico K pack, those all work good. A good trick to add volume is bed heads catwalk root lifter, spray it on your roots when your hair is wet, it makes it look 10 times thicker. Hope this helps
