I would suggest switching to Citalopram, which is a generic of Celexa.. Celexa

is the same as Lexapro, but supposedly, Lexapro is a little cleaner than Celexa.

Anyways, my doctor switched me to it and haven't noticed a difference, nor any

side effects..

good luck, you should be able to get this other drug for much cheaper than

Lexapro

Thank you, I could not take celexa before, too many sides for me. would it be

I can totally feel your pain. I can't afford mine and am taking

citalopram, which kind of sucks. I felt awful for well over a month of

not taking the Lexapro. My anxiety increased and I would pick a fight

with anybody! I'm trying to find a program that would offer free or a

discount on that particular medication. My insurance made it

out-of-network so it's $60 a month for me.

If you can cut back on something else to afford it, do it! I wish you

Thank you ! yes I feel that way now! I have to have this medication! to

make it easier for me my doctor gave me 20mg to brake in half and the pharm.

said they would sell me by the week or even by the day if I needed them to and

they told me that they also will match any other pharmacy price (if I find it

cheaper) All things I didn't think of myself. I could not believe what a monster

I turned into and then I felt like I lost a loved one or something (which thank

god I didn't) and that was all in a matter of 2 weeks! its kind of scary.. I

heard of alot of things (on here) as far as how bad it is to stop this drug. But

nothing about how I feel right now. So thank you for your support. I agree, I'll

do what ever I have to do to get it next time.

just out of curiousity, why couldn't she get the 20mg dose and split it and take

10mg per day and get 2 months worth of it for price of 1.. that would seem to be

a better alternative if she can't take the other medicine I suggested.

Also, you should ask your doctor about other medicines, I took Paxil for a

I went off my Lexapro for the same reason for about 2 months. I became suicidal

and pretty much psychotic, it was the scariest thing Ive ever been through as I

had never ever been like that before. I also flew into a rage which lead me to

become violent with my husband. I want me at all. Fortunately a friend gave me

samples and I am now back on 20 mg. In the beginning and end of the month I

split them in half so I get 6 weeks out of them.

Im hoping to get my doctor to switch me to Effexor which is only 35 a month on

my insurance, and Effexors manufacturing company has a program to ive them free

if needed

OH MY GOSH! thank you all for talking about this with me! I thought i was going

crazy! I crashed so hard I knew what it was but just didnt have the money. Im

hoping to get it tonight I'll never let myself run out again! im getting the

20mg and maybe pay for 1 weeks worth so 2 weeks really and go from there. I love

For me it seemed I was worse at like 6 weeks off, you start to feel normal and

have these rapid cycles of craziness. 6 to 10 weeks severe headaches start up.

Have you called doc to see if they have samples, they do from time to time?

(Mine never does when I need them though)

Also if you ever know your going to be out a few days, drop to 5 mg before you

run out. a minor amount in your system is better than cold turkey out

I was just wondering if you were suicidal before you went on anti-

depressants because that is scary if you weren't and then you went

off it and became that way!

Hello, No I wasnt suicidal in fact I didnt even think I was depressed. Thats

why it was so scary I didnt feel suicidal when I stopped ,but I felt a lot of

other side affects that made me feel like taking the whole bottle when I DID

finally get it filled. I just dont want to ever feel THAT way again. I think It

works as far as I do feel better but the thought of running out of it again

worries me. My husband says its like " heroin " in that if I dont have it Im a

wreck! I was taking vicodin for headaches and low dose of xanax for anxiety for

a few months and I asked my doctor " why cant I just take the two for the rest of

my life " just saying, It worked and why should I take anything else? and all she

would say was " we dont like for you to take those forever " OK, but NOW im taking

Lexapro and it feels like forever to me? the other 2 drugs do NOT make me feel

like a drug addict like this one does. some one please explain why I should not

be able to take something that works?
