Not sure what to tell you...maybe a hematoma? In that case, it might need to be drained, but you will have to see your explanting surgeon for sure.

I have never heard of anyone being explanted from under the armpit before. I hope you discussed everything with your doctor about the proper procedure to be performed, meaning of course, removal of all the scar tissue. Make sure you get a copy of your operative report to look over the description of the surgery and if everything was removed that needed to be removed. Did you have symptoms of illness?

Subject: Need help...bruise that won't go away...

I was explanted 2 weeks ago today via the armpit/under muscle.I had a few bruises and all have gone except on that is on my side, about 2 inches from bottom of armpit.I am a little concerned because it isn't fading at all, and it still looks purpleish.Do you think I still might be bleeding a little? Is this something I need to be worried about? It isn't getting any bigger...just not fading. Can anything be done about this? I am putting arnica gel on it.

Have you asked your doctor about it? . . . Sounds like something your doctor should look at.

It may not be anything to worry about, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Thanks Patty...I don't think it's a hematoma...but

it could be a mild one....

but I will call in a few days if it doesn't get better.

I was explanted after only having them in for 9 weeks (smooth saline,

under muscle)

I got them out...because I hated them...so did my husband.

I e-mailed Dr. Feng...and she said I did not have to worry about

removing the capsule.

I had no symptoms....thank goodness. I didn't even realize people

were getting sick with salines before I had them put in!

I certainly trust Dr. Feng's advice...what a smart woman you are for getting them removed so quickly! I am thankful you didn't get sick. I don't think any of us knew saline implants were making women sick. It seems to be a well concealed or at least glossed over subject in many plastic surgeons offices. Sad, very sad.

Let us know what you find out on the bruise...

I guess I could e-mail a picture to Dr. Feng...but she isn't my

ps...even so, she was very nice to answer my question about the

capsule.
