Your breasts will NOT be deformed if the capsules (scar tissue) is removed . . .

And, if your implants are removed en bloc, the capsules will be removed completely anyway.

Something is not making sense!

Doctors would just as soon leave the capsules in because it takes more time and skill to remove them . . . He's looking after his interests, not yours!

Hi all,It's been very helpful to read all the messages, as I am researching for my explant. I have consulted 2 PS so far, and I need to discuss with more. One PS suggested that I remove my implants but leave my scar tissue inside, in order to keep the my breast shape intact. If I removal all the scar tissue, there is a risk that my breasts will deform. Both procedures are under sedative (not Gen. Anes.) and en bloc. Can someone share their experiences on leaving scar tissues in.Regards,Judy.

Judy,

This is just plain scaremongering for this doctor to tell you that your breasts will be deformed if the scar tissue is removed. My scar tissue was removed, and I am not deformed. It has nothing to do with it. If you end up deformed, it is because of the total lack of SKILL in the explanting doctor to do it right. There are thousands of women walking around with their implants and scar tissue removed and they don't all look deformed. You can check out the pictures on our website and see for yourself.

Doctors don't like to take out scar tissue because it adds time and expense to the removal procedure. It makes it a more difficult surgery for them. Some plastic surgeons try to give you the idea that leaving in the scar tissue will be doing you a favor, by giving you a little more to work with in filling out the breasts. IT is all bullhooky. Scar tissue does nothing but create the potential for more problems and disease, as it is a reservoir of micro-organisms, silicone oils, degradation products and other implant related gunk.

Don't be so easily misled by these plastic surgeons. You will become as expert as them on the requirements of a proper removal, and the knowledge you gain from those of us who have already been through this can be used in your favor. If you want to get your implants out, you need to be proactive in getting them out right, as it is your health that is at stake. I don't mean to sound harsh, but this is one area that it is not wise to take risks. Don't let them leave the capsule inside you.

Judy, I had my capsules removed (scar tissue) along with my implants last year. I couldnt agree more with how Patty summed it up! If you are ill, you must get it all out. My capsules were infected and full of goop. They were terribly inflammed, and hard to get out. My surgery was sopossed to take 2 to 3 hours, and mine took almost 7! My doc had to scrape (even all the way down my rib cages) and pull, and tug, to get those gross things out. She was determined not to leave a peice in me. That scar tissue is very improtant. 1)It was created to harbor and keep your tissue away from this foreign object. Doing so,as Patty said, it is filled with junk, infections, silicone particles, and all the other fun stuff the implants left there.2)The very thing that may have helped to ward off a health crisis, left in -will make you ill.

I was very very ill, and I couldnt imagine if I would have left those capsules in. They were badly and dangerously infected, and I am still dealing with multiple infections (on an antibiotic treatment now for a few years) I couldnt imagine the consequences if they would have been left in. Make sure to go to a recommended doctor on this site, as they are expertises in this area. And is vital to your health and after appearance. Most plastic surgrons (almost all) are only trained to explant with replacement, very few are taught, or have learned to make breast breasts beautiful after the damage of implants without a new set! Most do not think this important to remove the capsule as they do not think you are ill from them. I wouldnt go to a doctor to have him open me up, not believing that I was ill from them, only to leave a ton of crap in my chest, and do nothing professionally to make me look appealing.

Look ay my pictures, I think I look better without them, and love my breasts. Most importantly, I feel better every day. Get those capsules out! Take Care,
