Guest guest
Lex is a miracle drug... two weeks at 10mg and 20mg this week and what a difference it has made. I've always had it ALL in front of me and never knew it until the fog of depression and anxiety had been lifted off of me. Home and work are actually not half bad and being happy is not just for the mindless masses as I previously believed. Finally living at 34... So after you read through all the complaints and obsessing about the side effects in this group... remember that Lex can work!
Guest guest
Hi - nice to hear someone doing so well on lex - it has helped me a lot too - not quite so dramatic - taking a bit longer but I stopped at 10mg - seemed to have more anxiety and depression after 2 weeks on 20 mg I have also been using other things such as exercise (walking cycling) pilates - relaxation tapes etc. have you tried any alternative treatments as well as lex? Guest guest
Hi Mike... Lex and a therapist (cognitive-behavorial) and lots and lots of honesty with everyone around me. Not sure how long you've been taking Lex but at week 3 I know that I will only get more even with time. Keep being positive and good luck! > Lex is a miracle drug... two weeks at 10mg and 20mg this week and what a difference it has > made. Guest guest
I have been on Lex for about 3 months - for anxiety more than depression - for several months before that I was suffering pretty severe physical anxiety symptoms and really thought I would never break free of it - I was totally desperate when I started taking the lexapro - was very worried about side effects but had nothing to lose by then !!! the lex seemed to get me to a point where I could use other treatments and get some control - I had a few therapy sessions which were helpful - exercise really seems to help for me - also pilates and tai chi - relaxation ( tapes) and meditation (music) - things are pretty good now - in fact I would settle for feeling like this all the time lol Hopefully experiences like ours will encourage other people I know eventually I will have to consider when to start reducing the lex .................... Guest guest
That's what prompted my posting in the first place... nothing is quite as cheery as a room full of depressives and the anxious lol! I just wanted to remind people why they were taking the drug in the first place... not much point if it doesn't work! Why would you consider weaning yourself off? Aren't you concerned about going back to dark side? > > Lex is a miracle drug... two weeks at 10mg and 20mg this week and what a > difference it has > > made. Guest guest
Well depression had never really been a major problem for me - my main problem is general anxiety which became a viscious circle of symptoms and anxiety - hopefully as the circle breaks down I will be ok if I keep working on alternative therapies. I used to find meditation helped with low mood - I try to practice more regularily now along with yoga, relaxation exercise etc. For bouts of depression I think the usual recommendation is 6 to 12 months treatment but I appreciate that for people with long term depression there is a very good case for continuing indefinitely with an ssri if it is working for them. I will probably wait till 5 or 6 months is up and then come of them very slowly.............. well thats the plan anyway !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! challs_33624 <challs_33624@...> wrote: That's what prompted my posting in the first place... nothing is quite as cheery as a room full of depressives and the anxious lol!
